My FH and I were talking about the older relatives who live here on Staten Island. We think it might be too much for some of them to drive all the way to Smithtown and then back to Staten Island late at night. We obviously will have rooms set up in case they want to book and stay overnight but if they don't, do you think we should get a shuttle or something to go from SI to Smithtown and then back after the reception? Any idea how much something like that might cost?
I would ask the older relatives if they feel comfortable staying at the hotel first, then take it from there. In the interim make some calls and find out how much it would cost. See what would be most cost effective and convenient for them. You never know they may actually not mind stay at the hotel after your wedding.

Do you have other family that could drive them? That way you don't have to worry about it, but you know they're taken care of?
My only real older relative is my grandma, but I know my mom is going to be driving her, and my great aunt and uncle are stubborn old people who refuse to not drive themselves everywhere (which, good for them really, because they still can)
