OMG a piece of my tooth just fell off

im sitting here at work eating a starurst and a piece of my tooth came off thank god its a tooth in the back .....but now im freaking im seeing the dentist tomorrow .....do u think i will need a root canal?

Unfortunately for me i've had several teeth chip and not once did i need a route canal. Does it hurt a lot.....if it does not hurt to bad you prob don't need one. Good luck

Unfortunately I have had too much experience with root canals....and other fun tooth stuff, but it sounds like you need it to be patched. If it is sharp they can usually use bonding. If it is decayed then they can drill it (no pain) and use bonding (tooth colored) and patch it that way. If you do need a root canal, as much as it *****...it is not as bad as some may think it is. Please believe me. I think my nerves got the better of me the first time. There will be no pain at all...except as they are numbing you, which only is a pinch at the first few seconds.
