OMG Can you.....

believe that there are fake brides here. I mean I never thought about it until I was reading past reviews and posts from brides stating that this was happening. That people were actually calling other people's vendors and canceling contracts. Can you believe that? It's terrible that people are taking this wonderful website and doing such horrible things.

We've seen a couple over the summer.

Just nasty girls coming on and saying random weird things - then getting nasty.

You'll see them over the summer b/c people have more time to harass us.

ETA: Like your bitter next door neighbor who's secretly jealous you're getting married - when you tell her 'oh I just love LIW' she'll come on and start saying things like - 'my wedding is at Oheka and Bette Midler is singing, and I have a custom dress, oh and your fiance is so ugly.' Just mean people...

i figured there were vendors on here faking it just to promote their services. i've seen some that are obvious (ones that only seem to post about how great one vendor is). But, i dont understand what you mean by cancelling contracts?

OMG i cannot believe that things like that happen! maybe thats one of the reasons that some of the girls dont post their vendors on their profile? now i am paranoid!

I cannot imagine doing something that nasty to someone.

What one vendor mentioned to me was to add a special 'password' to your contract. For any changes to be made to your contract they must use your special wedding password. I thought it was a very good idea for alot of reasons, not necessarily just LIW crazy people related!

We did not share our wedding day details along the way with many people on the chat boards since this is a public site. I know of brides who had others call their hall to try to cancel or call to try to cancel registries or other vendors – out of pure jealousy I guess Not to mention, the number of lurkers on this site is probably 95% more than the number of people who actually post since there is no requirement to even register to simply read the posts

Because we did not publicly share all of our wedding details along the way, we will give a detailed account now.
