OMG cold sore vent!

OMG cold sore vent!

I just started to feel that tingle of a cold sore coming on and I'm SO upset! FH is a GM in a wedding this weekend and we're going to three wedding-related weekend events! I don't want to be walking around with this monstrous cold sore! I hate the way they look and feel! Does anyone else struggle with them?

Typically I use Abreva for them and I just went on their website. They have an 'Abreva reminder' for which you tell them the date of an upcoming event and it'll send a reminder and a coupon for Abreva 2 weeks before, just in case! I just set up a reminder for my wedding date!

This is going to sound really weird to use on it, but this is what i do and found that it works better and faster than abreva, i put visine on my cold sore when i get one and it works great

There's a vitamin supplement called LYSINE... as soon as you notice or get the feeling you're getting one... if you take that a couple times a day it gets rid of it before it even comes out, or if it already started, cuts the time WAY down...

I take 2 in Morning, 2 afternoon, and 2 at night (just for the first day or 2 until it's gone), which is more than the bottle says to take, but it totally works for me!

I totally hear you girl. I HATE HATE HATE cold sores. I usually get them at or around the time of my period but sometimes it is random. I try to stop them before the break out but it just doesn't work all the time. And once they open it takes so long for them to go away. My doctor had given me something that seemed to work but I don't remember the name of it. Abbreva works well too. They are just so annoying and I feel like everyone is looking at this disgusting thing on my face when they are talking to me.

I used to get canker sores alllll the time. I went through a nice break and now I have one and it s u c k s. For them, I let a child's chewable aspirin melt on it - stops the pain for a few hours, not sure why. Cank-aid got REAL expensive it seems - went to buy some today and it was $12.99 a bottle! I remember it being sold in a squeezy-type container for like $5 I think.
