FH just got to my house with the cd's we were (key word 'were') going to use. I put one in the cd player and on the 7th song (out of 14) it just stops. Ok I try another and another and another......all 110 are the same way!!!! They all stop in the middle of the song.
This is the one thing that I asked him to do. I asked him if he checked to make sure that the songs play all the way through. He says well was supposed to do listen to the whole entire cd??!!!!!
So now hes insisting we can still use them and act like we don't know. I told him no way. Now I'm looking at a stack of cd's and debating on what to do. I told him that you girls will give me an honest opionion. He also told me that tomorrow he'll go to the store and buy new cd's and burn them tomorrow night. ( In the back of my mind I want to do this) We can then change our wedding song which we've both been having 2nd thoughts on. Please be honest what would you do???? I keep thinking what a waste it would be to throw out 110 cd's.

well, i think if the cd-rw's you can reuse them, but the quality may not be as good. did you download the songs off of kazaa? you should get a new copy of that song!
cd-r's can be cheap depending on where you get them. try www.microcenter.com, its in westbury and thats where my dad gets all of his computer stuff.
etd to say, make one cd and make him listen to it!

I definitly would re-do them .. even though its a waste.. your putting so much time and energy into the wedding the same should go for this.. esp if you are having second thoughts on the first dance song.. DONT DO THEM AGAIN TILL YOUR POSITIVE!! - Look at it this way its a sign telling you not to use that song and its an excuse to change it... run with it!! JMO though

what are u planning to do with the cds? the library has free cds to borrow why dont you take them out and burn copies of them its probably easier.

I'm sorry - I don't have much of a suggestion other than to unfortunately redo them - but try to get CD-RW in case it happens again -
This is the sort of thing that would happen to me!

I would say you're going to have to do them again, but fortunately, CD's are really cheap. I would say the biggest problem would be getting them done in time, but you have plenty of time. Oh, well, these things happen--just be thankful you caught it!

SOmetimes CD players have problems reading CDRW's. And you would not want anyone to accidentaly erase them on thier computers. CD-R's are cheap and you can redo them. Turn the cd's into coasters! or decorate next years xmas tree with them...or you could do a big fish collage on your wall like in that commercial. sorry being silly...but its redo-able. Make him buy the cd's though!

CD-R's are pretty cheap. Go to Staples. They usually have a spindle of 50 for only $10. I think it is worth the little extra money.

djkatscan your too funny! I think that next years xmas tree does need some re-decorating. Maybe I can write to trading spaces to get some home cd decorating ideas.

CD's are pretty cheap, so it's not a huge deal.
Get quality CD's, that's the first step. Try looking on the label for 'made in japan', they are the best quality. (Fuji is usually made in Japan, and I think they are onsale at Best Buy this week) Aside from that, try recording at a lower speed. Audio CD's can be very funky when you record them. Be sure as someone else said the songs are all complete if you downloaded them.
Have you tried the discs in another player?

You are definitely going to have to redo them. You really have to listen to the music you downloaded, though. I found that most times when I download a song, especially lately, there is some sort of error on it. I now listen to them as soon as they are downloaded and if it's no good, start again. Good luck, at least you have plenty of time!
