I took out pork chops for dinner tonight. Well, I just walked out into the kitchen and my darling little kitten, who just learned to jump up on the counter, ripped the package of pork chops open and pulled a pork chop out and her and our other cat were sitting on top of the stove with it. I can't believe them. I swear this kitten is seriously like a toddler in their terrible two's. You can't turn your back on her. Do you think they brought it over to the stove to help me cook??

Thats what I was worried about, but I looked at it and she didn't actually get to eat any of it. She licked it. I am watching her, she seems to be ok. I think the worst consequence if she did eat it, is she'll be spending a lot of time in the litter box!!

I had to look it up - it seems cats have a tough digestive system that can handle raw meats. Pork is not recommended but since your little one just licked it, I am sure she'll be fine.
So, what's for dinner now??

We're still having pork chops, except there's only 7 now instead of 8. DH won't gain as much weight now!!

Re: OMG, I am Speechless!!
that's the reason i've learned NOT to ever leave any meat on the countertops...EVER!!! My little darling Gunnar has been known to jump up and help himself to whatever I put out!

I decided it would be easier to never get a cat, they are just too darn obnoxious!

Re: OMG, I am Speechless!!
I remember one night I got up to go to the bathroom and I heard this horrible weird noise ... I ran into the kitchen and low and behold there was my cat (1yr) ripping the bag of cat food on the cart in the kitchen and she knocked over all the canned cat food This cat is truly a pig when it comes to food.

we also had little mini bags of goldfish on the kitchen table in a big bowl and one day i found my little darling chewing at the corner of one of the bags....he actually opened it up!!!
I thought it was too cute...goldfish of all things!

LOL. But a word of warning, I have 'senior' cats (5, 7 and 9) who I STILL cannot trust when I am cooking any kind of meat. And trying to make turkey sandwiches without it becoming an acrobatic event is just not possible.

i agree totally.....it doesn't go away with age always....gunnar will be 14 in about a week, and he has no trouble hopping up on the counter when the mood suits him!
