Soo I got my dress - the first one I tried on! I figured that was the hardest part of the battle.
Then I go looking for shoes... I've been looking for shoes for months now! (ok 1 month but still - I've been to countless stores)
So... I finally go today - more than determined to get shoes... and I find some at payless. (My parents graciously offered to pay for the reception but the rest is up to us and I can't see spending 70-300 on shoes!) So whatever... they'll do.
That's my attitude toward them. They are cute... but they don't match *perfectly* and FH sort of looked at me like this when I showed them to him. (we have a swatch of my dress so he knows what color it is).
My point is - nobody is going to see my friggin shoes and I'm going to keep them out of pictures as much as possible! and unless you are really comparing them - you can't tell they don't match perfectly!
*sigh* please tell me there are other girls that feel the same way I do around here. How important is it to really get the PERFECT shade of white for your shoes (that nobody is going to see under a huge ball gown during the ceremony before I change them for the reception!)

I wouldn't go crazy ... if the shade seems to be close enough to you, then that's all that matters. If what other people are saying are getting to you, I know that Payless has a shoe section for weddings... and some bridal shops sell shoes for only about 35... I found a pair at Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point for about 45 that I absoutly love. I know what you mean about spending soo much on such a minor detail... I am paying 90% of my ENTIRE wedding... only getting a small amount from my Mom...so I know exactly where you are coming from. Get what makes YOU feel comfortable and OK with. It IS YOUR day...don't foreget that...

I don't think that it really matters unless you're completely anal about something so small. I'm actually going to do a raspberry colored shoe to give it a little more style and to not have to worry about matching too much...

The whole finding the right white is just not that serious.. Even if the whites/ivories are off, its still considered a MONOCHROMATIC color scheme.
Monochramatic color schemes are shades, tints and tones of the same color. For example-sky blue, cobalt blue, navy blue all together is monochromatic.
So variations on whites, beiges, and ivories will all work.

Re: OMG I Give UP!
Thank you so much - this shoe thing is just bothering me (you are all gonna have to help me out when we really get down to the planning then ;))
I'm going for a try on Wed... (that's why I'm stressing about the shoes...) I'm going to have at least 2 of my BM with me so if it's that big of a difference they can tell me and I can keep them for height at the try on and then return them to payless and get the dyed ones for 40 bucks.
But I really don't think it's going to be noticable..

Thank you! I'll go with that reasoning... I even considered going with silver so I didn't even have to worry about it. This makes me feel much better thank you so much.

Re: OMG I Give UP!
its not a big deal -- although i did have my dyeable shoes dyed to match my diamond white dress bc it was free and i'm anal about things matching.
if you want to save money, why dont you pick a pair of non-white shoes you love and already own and just wear those? nobody will see, you will be comfy, and you will wear them again. then theres no worry about being matchy matchy

Honestly, no one is going to see your feet! Even if they do, I doubt they would say anything on your wedding day! I mean, for something you are going to wear for 6 hours, and will probably take off anyway, why break the bank? Its your day, who cares what everyone else thinks, do it your way

Same here....I don't think that the shoes have to match perfectly....not sure if you have already done so but you should check online...hope that helps.

Re: OMG I Give UP!
I have been stressing about shoes as well. I cant find anything I like and when I do, they are waaay more than I want to spend for a mere 5 hours of my life.
So I too am going with the theory that they will be under a huge gown-who will ever see them?
It cracks me up how the silliest things can be soo stressful.......ahhhh wedding planning!

I bought a pair of silver ballet flats. My dress is white and it has a little bit of silver beading in it. If your dress has the same, go for it.
i agree...shoes are no big deal...I cant believe I just said that
but only on our wedding day...on every other day...SHOES ARE VERY IMPORTANT

Re: OMG I Give UP!
I think the most important thing to your shoes is comfort. You are going to be in those shoes all day, so they must be comfortable.I felt the same about you and did not want to spend to much on shoes, but I found my shoes which were beautiful and comfortable and sturdy so I bought them for 130.00- a lot more then I expected. I feel the price is worth it considering I am going to be in them an entire day. Just make sure you are comfortable walking in them.
