OK here it is.. My FH is from England..... SO what that means his family is clueless on American wedding etiquette. OK just some background. SO my mom is paying for everything but FHs parents offered to pay for RD. Awesome. FSIL wanted to plan it even better right! One less thing for me to do. Well she planned it at a restaurant in Huntington Station that I have been going to since I was a child but recently changed owners... Lets just say not good. It has totally changed. Lets just say it was a nice family Italian restraint with a party room. Well now there are pool tables in the party room and my aunt just found this flyer!!!!!!!!! am I being snobby about this and should I just let it roll off my back or would everyone else say h*ll no I am not eating there!
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO HOW EMBARRASSING!!!! 50 of my closest friends and oot guests in a restaurant where they have strippers at night!! EWWWWWWWWWW! What do I do!! HELP
****UPDATE******** so I told FH and emailed him this flyer he said... OH and then got all offensive for his sister says how are she has been working for this and she looked all over and couldnt find anywhere and this is what she found and if would be unfair to her because she would feel bad and wouldnt have time to find another place. She already send out invitations and all. PS my wedding is in 22 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I canlled a few placed in the Huntington area and everyone is already booked mostly.. so now I really dont know what to do I am embarressed to go there but FH doesnt want to say anything and is calling me snobby for getting upset over this UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Re: OMG I have a high issue!
I would explain this very nicely to your FMIL and then give her suggestions to a better place

Ditto. I'm sure your FMIL will understand, I don't think she would want to be there either if she knew about this.

Re: OMG I have a high issue!
You need to talk to her and straighten this out. I think that being honest and straightforward is the best route. If you go through with it, she'll see how uncomfortable you are that night and will feel terrible.

Yea in this case I would say honesty is the best policy, you don't want everyone to find out at the last minute, if you act soon you may be able to change it??

Re: OMG I have a high issue!
Stephanie, it looks like there's a good possibility that you're going to be very uncomfortable having your RD there. That's not how you want to feel, believe me you're better off making some other arrangements even if you just have it at someone's house.
Either you run the risk of hurting your FMIL's feeliings or ruining your experience at your own RD. I'd say the lesser of the 2 evils is to be straightforward with your FMIL. Show her the ad, I'm sure that'll put things into a whole new light for her!!
Good luck!!

I absolutely agree. I can't believe they've done this to our J&J!!
Have FH explain to them that it just changed owners and it is no longer a family-style restaurant?
It was truly a landmark for my family too!
Good luck!

oh God... I feel your pain... I've got to laugh a bit about it too, though..... our families both have their awkward immigrant moments too... Of course, our wedding events are noticably devoid of strippers... What a great benny hill skit...
Re: OMG I have a hugh issue! need your honest opinion
Oh Girl!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!! You def need to show your FSIL the flyer and tell her that you don't feel comfortable there. You can't have the RD there. Does FSIL like you? (j/k) You really have to have a discussion with her.

Definitely show her! I'm sure when she sees that, she'll understand.
On another note, I was there last year for a shower and we used to go there a lot when I was young, I can't believe how much it changed!
