OK here it is.. My FH is from England..... SO what that means his family is clueless on American wedding etiquette. OK just some background. SO my mom is paying for everything but FHs parents offered to pay for RD. Awesome. FSIL wanted to plan it even better right! One less thing for me to do. Well she planned it at a restaurant in Huntington Station that I have been going to since I was a child but recently changed owners... Lets just say not good. It has totally changed. Lets just say it was a nice family Italian restraint with a party room. Well now there are pool tables in the party room and my aunt just found this flyer!!!!!!!!! am I being snobby about this and should I just let it roll off my back or would everyone else say h*ll no I am not eating there!
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO HOW EMBARRASSING!!!! 50 of my closest friends and oot guests in a restaurant where they have strippers at night!! EWWWWWWWWWW! What do I do!! HELP
****UPDATE******** so I told FH and emailed him this flyer he said... OH and then got all offensive for his sister says how are she has been working for this and she looked all over and couldnt find anywhere and this is what she found and if would be unfair to her because she would feel bad and wouldnt have time to find another place. She already send out invitations and all. PS my wedding is in 22 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I canlled a few placed in the Huntington area and everyone is already booked mostly.. so now I really dont know what to do I am embarressed to go there but FH doesnt want to say anything and is calling me snobby for getting upset over this UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Oh My GOD !! I used to eat there when I was really young too!! It was REALLY different back then... If I were you I would politely nip that in the butt by making another suggestion such as ' I would really like to do the RH at 'XYZ Rest', what do you think?' for example. You should not have to have your RH somewhere that you don't want to and if your FSIL is planning it there because she feels it would be nostalgic for you, she is obviously trying to make you happy. Let her know what you really want so that her efforts do not go without appreciation.

i'd let them know. they probably don't even know about the strippers and the condition of the place. they probably booked based on reviews from when it was under the old ownership.

LOL!!!!! I'm so sorry to laugh but when I first saw the flyer, without reading the post, I was like 'oh no, she saw a flyer for her FH's bachelor party place and is upset about it' LOL!!! LMAO!!! I thought that was a place he was going for his BP and then I'm thinking 'the whole sign is ALL in Spanish, odd'
OK, I'll stop laughing b/c I know this is serious to you... You NEED to show FH the flyer, explain that it is not the same place it used to be, tell him to talk to his mom and sister and say how nice it is of them to offer to pay and help but that you didn't realize that this place is NOT appropriate... AT ALL. Then, I would make FH plan a date for you, him, FMIL and FSIL to go look at other places that are not strip clubs in Huntington Station I'm so sorry again for laughing...

I personally wouldn't go there-but I would end up wanting to spare FSIL feelings-I am sure she didn't know. I would show HER the flier and see what she thinks-do it casually. If she doesn't care-then I wouldn't let it bother you.

I would show her the flyer, I think that will help her decision.
Tell her you were touched that she tried to pick a place you had gone to your whole life, but that place no longer exists and now it's filled with Chicas Roland instead of good Italian food like you remembered. WOW! She probably has no idea about this change in ownership.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think 'Las Chicas Roland' are strippers. They are a latin musical/dance performance group. I would double check with the restaurant but I am pretty sure. No worries :)
