I hope it is good!! I love the original with Gene Wilder. I know that Tim Burton is making it, and while I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas I hope he doesn't make this too creepy. Its supposed to be magical...When does it come out?

I think it comes out July 17. I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan, but this doens't really look that creepy. the first trailer I saw (really short) looked creepy. This seems really magical and fun and cool! I think even die hard fans of WWCF will be pleased!

I personally am protesting the new Willy Wonka I love the first one and this one looks weird to me and creepy - I am not a fan of Tim Burton

The thing i am concerned with is that what made the first one so great was Gene Wilder....he was absolutely perfect as Willy Wonka and had that sarcasm that came across as funny...I love johnny depp but i just don't know about this role for him...too sinister maybe?? I don't know. I'll see it though :)

It's a creepier, darker version of the movie.
So I guess looking creepy is a good thing.
It's 'Charile & the Chocolate Factory' not
'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'.
Willy Wonka is by far one of my favorite movies, but I'm definetly looking foward to what Tim Burton has created.

The BOOK was Charlie and the Chocolate factory as written by Roald Dahl in the 60s. I remember reading it as a child. The original movie was vastly different from the book as I am sure the remake of the movie will be from the original.

Some things just shouldn't be remade. Sort of like when Madonna covered 'American Pie.' I agree that it looks creepy, but now that I think about it, watching the original as a child was fun, but as an adult, it is mildly disturbing. The boat scene, Slugworth, the fact that half the people are British and half the people are American. It was just weird.

Well then, that makes perfect sense . Still, after paying $12.75 to see Madagascar tonight , I think I'm going to be avoiding going to the movies for a while.

I just watched the trailer. It looks quite different from the original movie. Even though I'm a big fan of the original movie, I'm looking forward to seeing Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's interpretation of the story and the character.

I don't think it's a remake of the movie, I think it's another fi;m interpretation of the book. I think this is why the movei is called 'charlie and the chocolate factory', which as you mentioned is the title of the book, rather than WW and the CF, which is the title of the Gene Wilder movie. I think it should be great. the BOOK is very creepy

it looks like a great movie. it definetly looks twisted and demented though. like the night mare before christmas movie. tim berton(sp?) directed that movie also. guess we'll have to see it when it comes out.
