I just read that my BCP has been recalled due to errors in packing. My current box is part of the possible effected packages and I am PANICING AND SO UPSET! I just woke up FH panicing. If i'm pregnant there goes the wedding!
I'm trying to call my pharmacy (which is Rite Aide) and no one is answering. In the article it says they are supposed to notify anyone effected. The article was 2 days ago. When was I supposed to get a phone call?!?!?! If it wasn't for LIW I probably would have never known any time soon and been continuing to take possible defected BCP.
Luckily my period is supposed to start within the next 2 days or so. Please girls send your prayers my way!!
I know no BCP is 100% but I've been on BCP for quite some time and I have never had any issues or scares.
FH and I want kids but DEFINITELY not now and not this way.

I would definitely try to take a breath and relax. There is nothing you can do about it at this point so worrying will only make matters worse.

I don't understand this part: The recall is being implemented because of a packaging error, where select blisters were rotated 180 degrees within the card, reversing the weekly tablet orientation and making the lot number and expiry date no longer visible.
So, are they saying that some of the placebo pills were labeled as regular pills?
Either way I'd be pissed, and i'm sending good vibes your way.
Maybe you can sue them and have them pay for your whole wedding!!!
I'm joking, but seriously... I hope everything goes okay. Let us know when TOM gets here!!

I've calmed down since this morning but its still in the back of my mind like 'what if'?? I went to Rite Aide and the pharmacist didn't even know about the recall!!! Do you believe that?! FH had to google the article on his phone and show it to him. I also ended up hearing it on News 12 (which is a bronx only news channel on cablevison). The pharmacist called up some # and they basically told him to tell me to go to my doctor and get a new prescription for a different kind of BCP.
Pharmacist checked out the left over BCP packs that I had and he said everything seemed in the right order, which I agree. In my pills each row is a different color and they all seem to be in order so I'm hoping thats a good sign!
I plan to call my GYN first thing Monday morning and try to get in to see her asap. I'm hoping my 'TOM' comes before Monday so that way my mind can be eased and I can just get a new prescription.
This is still crazy though. IF I was to end up prego I would be looking to sue in a heartbeat! Because even though BCP aren't 100% this would definitely be their FAULT! FH and I even joked we'd get them to pay for our wedding and kids college fund lol. But seriously.. this is crazy. I read this is the 3rd recall within a year on drugs from the company who manufacturers the pills. Other times weren't BCP related though.
I will keep you girls posted. Thanks for the prayers and positive vibes...

OMG I'd be so upset as well. Definitely get in touch with your doctor and Rite Aid has some of the dumbest pharmacists. (No offense to anyone who happens to have family there - I'm sure they are good, I'm just talking about many experiences that I have had which made me never go back).. I just definitely feel like they're the most behind and the fact that they DIDN'T know really scares me! Try to stay calm and use back up in case for now and check out the doctor!

Thank you. I can totally relate with what your saying about Rite Aide. They are terrible in the store in my neighborhood but bcuz of my insurace I have to use them to get my meds.

I think it said on the news the color of your pack will be weird... so you should know if your packet is incorrect. When I saw that I almost fell on the floor also but I take Oscella.

OMGG!!! That's so crazy!!! I just started a new BCP because I was on beyaz and my gyn decided she didnt want to prescribe it anymore.. too much of a liability.!!!
I start my new one today and am definitely gonna check out the list and make sure its not on there! Hope all goes welll!!!!!!!!
