I think I'm the only one that is honestly not bothered by it!
My methods to my madness:
1. Cash bar - like being at a club with great food. No big deal, I buy my own drinks all the time, so I'm just more excited when the liquor is free.
2. Sunday weddings - I HATE when people (i.e. my friends) complain about them. We go the fuucking Boardy Barn people!!!!!
I don't get the Boardy Barn comment but it wouldn't really bother me if a wedding was cash bar. I guess its probably because I don't really drink.
My sister did this for her first wedding about 10 years ago mostly because it was a very small wedding and they were trying to keep costs down. It can make a BIG difference with money. And yes it WAS a NY wedding.
I honestly wish I was doing it for my wedding. I'm so nervous about people getting drunk and doing something.

Re: OMG LAME!!!!
I've never been to a wedding that had a cash bar, but I know they're common outside of LI/NYC area.

Re: OMG LAME!!!!
A cash bar isnt that bad. I have been to a wedding without any liquor. That was bad.

i dont think that people that are invited to an affair should have to pay for food or drinks - they are GUESTS!

Was it in NY? Because as a lot of other girls said, it’s fairly common out of state…I think it’s fairly common upstate too.
I went to a wedding upstate and the first hr was open bar and the rest was cash.
I thought it was so strange but my friends said it was fairly normal.

Re: OMG LAME!!!!
Every wedding I've been to in Pennsylvania has been a cash bar.
