OMG Monica's bridal in Brooklyn was horrible!!!!

So I had an appointment at Monica's today and I was so diappointed. I went with my dad and the place is very pretty and clean. I met with Ilya who was the worst. I don't know if they just woke her up for our appoinment or what her excuse was. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she told me they didn't have that dress. Fine, I said, do you have anything similiar(I wanted A-line, satin with a little beading) She then pointed to a couple of racks and said ok look and let me know what you like. Seriously?? I told her 'I just showed you what I like, do you have anything similiar?' They had little to no selection and all the sample dresses were small sizes. I ended up picking three dresses out and went to go try them on. Ilya came in the room with me but didn't help me at with putting on the dresses except when I had to ask her to zip it up. I ended up just putting my clothes back on and leaving. I was so disgusted!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!! Just wanted to share my experience. Even my dad was like 'you see a girl coming in here with her father, they should be jumping all over it to get a sale'

Ugh! I am so sorry to hear about your situation!!! I hope the next one isn't like that

and your dad is totally right btw lol! good for him!

The next one was a lot better!! I called Valentina's Bridal was I was still at Monica's to see if they could see me today and they said no problem and were very nice. I had my dad rearrange his schedule to come with me and I didn't want to waste the day. Once we got there they treated us like gold!! I worked with Val who was amazing!!! I showed her the picture and she immediately started pulling out similiar dresses. After a few dresses...I found the one and said Yes to the dress. Soooo excited!!

Aww good!!! That's great that you had a happy experience right after. I guess you have to go through the bad in order to appreciate the good... Happy to hear you said 'yes to the dress' :D

I had the complete opposite experience with Monica's Bridal. I actually ordered my dress from them and they have been nothing but extremely sweet and accomodating to me since day one. They even went out of their way to call up San Patrick corp when I had a panic attack when I found out my dress might be getting discontinued and the woman called me back first thing the next morning to let me know she hadn't gotten in touch with them but that she would keep trying. The morning after that, she called me again and said that she spoke with them and everything is fine with my dress. I've been working with Yelena for the whole process and she never rushed me, took me through all the dresses and even picked out some more based on what styles I seemed to like and she was very helpful in the dressing room. She also was able to get my mother an amazing price on the dress.

I'm sorry you had bad experience there, but your just got put with a bad saleslady.

I went dress shopping at Monica's and hated it. I refused to go to valentina's because i had a bad experience with them for another wedding i was in. I had a great time at Lotus Bridal though. Btu i have heard people who had bad experiences with Lotus. So it just depends on when you go, and who you work with.

Sorry, you had a bad time at Monica's but at least you found your dress. at The other place. Congrats.
