Did you see the front page of the papers!? HEARTBREAKING! I do not understand why Zim has to or feels the need to come out and say sorry and be so upset about things while that punk sits back and says nothing!!!

It infuriates me! Just goes to show you who is the classier team..always has been and always will be! All I have to say is imagine if Paul O'Neil was still on the team?? OMG..I wouldnt want to have been Pedro if that were the case!!!!!

The only thing I am happy about is that this showed Pedro's true colors and has marred him the eyes of many people. I dont care what kind of pitcher you are..you DO NOT behave like that...

Did you see Petitte?? He was so upset. Hes very close to Zimmer and was the first one on the team to get to him.

This has just got me so upset, every time I see a replay or another picture in the paper I literally get sick! It was just soooo horrible!!!!

I hate Pedro

He is such a sorry excuse for a professional athlete. I am so sick of his temper trantrums when a team is hitting well against him. Zim was wrong to charge Pedro, but Pedro should have been tossed out of the game and fined for (1) throwing at Garcia's head and (2) threatening to throw at another player's head. And Money Ramirez should have been tossed for charging the mound over a pitch that was no where hear him.

I read the Nelson and Garcia are going to be charged with assault as a result of the bullpen fiasco.

The Red Sox are going down, yet again, and they know it. Go Yankeeeeeeeeesssssss!!!

I think Zimmer was wrong for going after Martinez, but come on, the man is 72 years old. Martinez could have walked away faster than Zimmer could run. I think it was so uncalled for to take Zimmer by the head and throw the man to the ground.

At least we know who has class. Zimmer!!! The man knew he was not right and apologized for his actions. Martinez should have done the same thing and showed a little bit of class in the end, but he didn't. Even if he felt he was 100% right, in showing absolutly no sportsmanship and acting like a common thug, he should have had the common courtesy to apologize!

I just read on Yahoo Sports that Pedro, Ramirez, Garcia and Zimmer were all fined for their actions during the game on Saturday.

Pedro = $50,000 (Yay!!!)
Ramirez = $25,000
Garcia = $10,000
Zim = $5,000

I hope that Pedro is really ticked off that he was fined twice as much as anyone else. In my opinion, it should have been more.

Pedro's a complete @$$ for making those comments to others while pitching (was it Jeter?) that 'next time he'll hit him in the head' moran. He should have been ejected for that comment.

I'm really not sure what Zimmer was thinking running up to Pedro, and that was definitely wrong but Pedro didn't need to throw him to the ground. You shouldn't ever through a 72 yr old man to the ground

The best part of all of this is that Pedro might have to pitch in Yankee Stadium!!! If the series goes to six games or seven (I hope not) games then I think Pedro's turn will come again. Imagine what the New York fans will have in store for him!!! He should hope that the Yankees win the next two games so he doesn't have to face the music! The same goes for Manny Ramirez too. He is just a big baby!

Ughhhh. The rivalry was bad enough before all this. Imagine what it will be now!

I was shocked when I saw the replay. I can see the self defense issue.. but if it REALLY was just a defense reaction why didn't Pedro check to see if the old man was alright. Poor Zimmer.

Should Zimmer have rushed him? Who knows, but Pedro should have been ejected even if it meant Zimmer too!!

Seeing him get all emotion was so sad..

While I agree that what Pedro did was wrong...Zimmer was also wrong. 72 years old or not - he charged someone! LOL But Zimmer turned out to be the better person for having come out publicly and apologizing for his unsportsman-like behavior. The Red Sox - nada. Just makes me hate them even more! hehehe (I'm a Mets fan)

Misty - I think it was a groundskeeper that went after Nelson, not a fan. According to Nelson, this guy pulled the same thing in '99.

The more I watch it, the more I get sick over it! This was so totally unreal! Would he have felt oh so confident in doing what he did if it had been David Wells running towards him like that??I dont think so!

NONE of this would ever have happened if Martinez didn't CHOKE. He clearly threw to hit Garcia. Then he starts motioning to Posada that he is going to hit him in the head..what a jackass!! Ramirez the F$%^ing baby that he is further fueled the fire by saying Roger was out to hit him. IF ROGER wanted to hit him, believe me he could have with no problem. The pitch was no where near him. But throwing Zim to the ground like a rag doll made me sick. It figures that Zim apologized because all in all he and the Yankees are a class act

Michelle - that's right, it was Posada that almost got hit by Martinez, not Jeter.

I still can't believe Garcia was hit in the back like that - I think that was totally on purpose
