I woke up Tuesday morning to work out and every time I moved my head, or just my eyes, my balance would go off- I was dropping things, and my ears felt like they were spinning
My roomie has been calling my Lucille 2 all day!
So I finally feel mostly normal today- finally got to work out.
The Dr. thinks it is the pressure from the start of allergy season and the recent weather changes.
Ugh, I just want to feel better

Re: OMG- so I went to the Dr yesterday
I have vertigo also - I got told about 2 years ago that I have it. It used to be REALLY bad. To the point where I would throw up sometimes from being so dizzy and ended up going to the emergency room twice. I've learned how to manage it over time. Sad thing is, I even went to a neurologist and they told me that I just have to deal with it. I also went to a ear and eye specialist, because sometimes vertigo is connected w/ your hearing and eyesight, and that didn't do anything either.
Keeping hydrated helps and for me - avoiding sugary things in the morning. If I don't eat an hour after I wake up, I get extremely dizzy, so now I make sure to always have something on my way out of the home.
It sucks and sometimes depending on the weather it gets worst Also, stress levels make it worst.
One of my co-workers also told me it could be a hormonal thing...But wherever I've gone to try to 'fix it' they just say there's no real fix. My insurance also denied me to get a scan of my brain to make sure everythings right.
Hang in there!

Hey ladies...this may sound strange but have you ever tried sinus rinses, like the ones you can get at the pharmacy by Neilmed? Sometimes the vertigo is due to inner ear/sinus problems. It's helped me a lot.

Hmm, haven't tried this. I did go and check all my sinuses w/ a specialist and nothing came back.
I even did this insanely crazy test that makes you dizzy on purpose. They had me follow a blinking light in the dark back and forth, and then also blew this crazy air in my ear that made me SOOO Dizzy.

Yeah- my DR told me to try basic Sudafed- just the decongestant
That has been helping tremendously.
Other than that he said there was really not much else to do- just wait for it to pass

I know, I was like- that's it? Nothing?
Awesome
The Sudafed seems to be rocking my world right now...but I feel like I have to sign my life away every time I buy it!

They wanted to give me this pill that basically knocks you out - I forget what it's called - vicodin? Does that sound familiar? THey're like you might not be able to function properly. UGH
Glad Sudafed is helping!

worst case scenario.. they do physical therapy for vertigo. Basically make you dizzy in the office, but it helps to stabilize the fluid in the ear. Sometimes they will do it in the MD office..
You could always call buster to help u

Sorry to crash but they did this to me too. I was in the hospital for vertigo and when I FINALLY went to an ear/nose/throat doctor he gave me valium. I was surprised they gave that to me but honestly I had the episode for a week+ and it was HORRIBLE. I was dizzy and felt like I had the drunk spins. I couldn't keep anything down. They tried different medications but finally they gave me valium and poof! It was gone. I get small cases every now and then but nothing to that extreme where I had to hold onto walls to walk and I couldn't keep my eyes open to make the room from stop spinning!
I hope you feel better!

LUcille! LOL
You can also just take meclizine, which is the prescription form of dramamine. it didn't really knock me out when I took it.

You can also try acupuncture. Studies show that it helps. Some even take insurance....I know someone who does. FM me if you want more info.

Re: OMG- so I went to the Dr yesterday
Thanks, girls
The frustrating thing is that I have my fifth licensing exam TOMORROW
Taking something that will knock me out is not an option, and I am so worried that staring at the computer for 5 hours straight will make me puke
sigh. I might go home from work early today and just lay down

LOLOLLOL too funny.... as Im reading that Im like, 'wait, it's something like dramamine'.... I dont have vertigo but I get reallllly bad motion sickness, and (I kid u not) LAND sickness (after I get off a boat I feel like im rocking for DAYSSS, and Im not talking about just a cruise ship, any ship or boat)... I even get it sometimes from an elevator! dramamine was the best for me, but ginger is supposedly good to have and there are pressure points in your wrist that you can press that may help. (They have those bracelets you can wear... i havent tried that yet though)
