OMG we got an invite to a wedding!!!!!

That is as bad as when I was invited to an engagement party (I was in the BP) and the couple told everyone to give them cash. So the ENTIRE BP bought them gift cards to places. My FH (wasnt dating him then)- gave them a recycled gift to spite them.


They then opened the envelopes at the party on the side of the place and was keeping mental math of ' how much they made!'

I've lived here in New Jersey for the past 4 years and we give cash gifts. I've never seen that before on any invites.

Actually I have heard this but it's that you ship boxed gifts and not bring them to the wedding, but shipping them ahead of time is suppose to be the courteous thing.

we had to do this..being that our wedding was in NY..we then had to drive from NY to FL and then FL back to KS

we needed as much room in the car as possible so boxed giftrs werent really a good idea

we just had word of mouth go around saying that if you are going to get us a boxed gift..have it sent to our apt in ks due to the moving..and i think i only got 2 at the reception..but they were small enough that it didnt matter

but when we got home there was a ton of stuff..which was nice too

Yeah i totally know what you mean. We live in the midwest while I'm finishing school but our e-party was in NY. We started getting a few gifts sent to my parents house in NY, so my mom insisted that i put our shipping address on the registry page of of our website which i thought was obnoxious, but i guess it was necessary. the registries had my address anyway! i hope it didnt offend anyone but we did start getting the gifts sent to us instead of my parents house.

we still got quite a bit brought to the party in person, and we ended up returning them at BBB and rebuying them out here. I have a place setting of china and some glassware from C&B that have been at my parents house since August though...

we'll prob just do the return/rebuy for any shower gifts that wont fit easily into my suitcase

uggghhh... 'no boxed gifts?' How about no gifts AT ALL!
