OMG...the suspense is killing me.....Updated

FH is currently at my FMIL's house kindly letting her know that we will NOT be having the ceremony in church.

I hope he's got his running shoes on!!

Update:

All he said was that she kept saying over and over again....no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you HAVE to get married in church. no, no, no, no, no, no call your sisters!

I'm laughing now.....but tomorrow it'll be a whole different story. I'm going to need many tomorrow.........

How long did it take your mother to come to terms with your decision?

They don't charge any extra for the ceremony so just let Loula know you're not sure yet. I'm sure it won't be a big deal if you say you will have the ceremony there and then decide not to. It would just be less setting up for them.

(You may not want to tell FMIL that though. It might be better if she thinks it's done on Saturday and there's no turning back. )

My mom is not happy with us either. I am jewish and FH is catholic. We decided that we did not want to get married by a priest or a rabbi and we are having a judge marry us!

Mom is definitely not happy. We were at dinner with them this past weekend. A rabbi she knows came in while we were there (I really think she planned it). She was like let me introduce you to my daughter who is getting married. She was like he can marry you.

Luckily I was able to stand firm and said I am not looking for someone to marry me,. I already have a judge doing it.

I'm in the same boat too! (reverse the religions though)

My mom is giving me SUCH a hard time that we aren't getting married at our church. I have stopped talking to her about my wedding which is kind of sad.

I was thinking of getting someone we know to do the ceremony but we haven't decided who to ask yet.

My mother did the same thing and she won! After going to the Church I am happy that we will be getting married there.. I am not doing a Mass.. so it should only be 20min or so.. My Church is also close to BYC so all is good...

Good luck tomorrow if she is anything like my mother your going to need it!

At the end of the day you need to do what is right for you and FH

Edit for update - i looked at our quote and were charged $500 for the ceremony are the SC

My FH's family isnt all that religious...plus they pretty much have no say in the wedding process. But, my mom and grandmother are VERY catholic. I basically put my foot down and said we are getting married at the RH and wouldnt let them get a word in lol. A little mean i guess, but i'm paying and its MY wedding.

The ceremony is included for me. I didn't even ask for it to be thrown in she just said it was. I'm not complaining.

Omg why did you pick today to tell her??? I would have waiting until after the holidays for your sanity!!!!!

And my RH charges for the ceremony too. I think its like 1000 or 1500!
