On the subject of birth announcements...
I'm searching for a printer ANYWHERE on Long Island who carries one or both of these announcements. If you should happen to run across them, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Jenn, the policeman one is HEART-MELTING !!My vote is for that one !!!! Will have more of a personal connection to the family, and make daddy feel like a special part of it... (Even though the daddies are a TREMENDOUS part of it, the initial feelings some of them have are that all attention is on mommy and baby
)But I think its pricelss !!!!!!!

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
I love the policeman one too, but do you think it'll be too 'boy' if we have a girl??

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Jenn, I can see what you mean by it possibly being too boyish. But picture if you have a girl, and she puts on daddy's hat or jacket, will you even be THINKING of her looking BOYISH ???
I think your heart melting will take over any thoughts! I just think the personal connection outweighs the boyishness of it BY FAR (but thats my opinion)
Also, I just pictured it as if it were a girl. (Say a GIRL NAME OUT LOUD as you look at the picture, you can envision that baby as a girl if you stare at him/her. I Think they did a good job of making it look as gender-neutral as possible.
Ask them if they can add a feminine touch to it if need be... lavendar or pink font? a pink ribbon?
Theyre both cute though!

Diane and Anna, you almost have me convinced!
I would ask Patrick his opinion, but I think I want to surprise him.

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Tangent..This little girl my mom babysat for many years (2m til 6y), well shes 'a little sister' to us (she's 11 now
). Well when she was an infant, we dressed her up in NYMETS EVERYTHING, hat, HUGE (our) sweatshirt, bat next to her, etc. And she didnt have her ears pierced so she even looked boyish in the pic, but its sooo cute.Hey, which makes me think...
Why dont you take pics of YOUR BABY, maybe with daddy's hat next to him/her (The hat might be too heavy to put on a newborn
) and use that invitations wording and make your own...

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Anna that's a GREAT idea, except that Patrick won't bring any of his work things home because he's afraid he'll bring roaches into the house (the precinct isn't the cleanest place in the world). His uniforms go directly from work to the dry cleaner (on the rare occasions that he wears them), and everything else stays at work.
I know he'd never allow me to put his 'skelly' (his word LOL) hat near his clean baby. When we were dating I BEGGED him to take a disposable camera to work and have someone take his picture because I was DYING to see what he looked like in uniform!

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
AWE, so you dont get to see your own hubby in Uniform ??
That stink-a-roonies!I thought that was one of the benefits
I wonder if the photo studios have those types of photos ideas/backgrounds for newborn photos. IM sure they do. Having your baby in the photo would definately be a plus. I did announcements with wallet sizes of JA.

You can probably just order a sample of each from those websites. I think the PoliceMan is very, very boyish, but the other is perfect for either.

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Both are cute
I agree with Anna though if you 'dress' up the policeman one with pink or purple you could use it for a girl

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
OK, Im officially NUTS
Jenn, I just thought of this idea.. I looked up newborn police outfits for you, and couldnt find any. and I then I thought 'well they make these things for dolls and stuffed animals
'and look what I came across..
Its not the cutest police outfit around, Im sure there are cuter ones, but its an idea
It SHOULD fit a newborn with no problem!

Re: On the subject of birth announcements...
Anna ... you are adorable!
Jenn .. I love them both. You are too cute!
I don't think the Police one is too boyish, but I would be a bit hesitant if you had a girl. If the writing is pink, then I think it's totally fine!
