Nope- I'm not either. I find that mostly people take corny pictures with them, so I figure- why bother?

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I am really on the fence as well.
I have heard both the positives and negatives of having them.
Some say that the cameras rarely get used and those that are used are the same repetive pictures that the photographer takes.
FH wants them, because he thinks we will get different types of pictures. I have been thinking about this for a while now. I am going over our guest list and trying to decide if our guests are the type of people that would utilize these cameras, and so far it is about 50/50.
I am still thinking about it.

Nope- I'm not planning on using them. There are pros and cons. You get interesting shots but sometimes they are repetitive and other times people don't realize they are on the table till the end and then they start snapping just to take pictures.

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
Just to add my 2 cents: I was planning on NOT having them until the very last minute for a variety of reasons. Now that the wedding is over, Im glad I did them. They werent that expensive and I have a few great photos that make it worth it.

we're using them, and what scued us in the decision are a few posts about girls disliking or not receiving their professional shots.
So we'll probably have parents take shots of us with their cameras, and give disposables to guests, more as a back up measure.

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I thought table cameras were a wonderful idea, but then . . .
My FI stepsister used table cameras at her wedding and not only were there many corny pictures, but many of them were not nearly used. It took her and my FI stepmother months to finish up the film in the cameras so that they could develop them.
I am still considering it, but I seriously doubt I will do it.

Thanks ladies.
Bribri, that's what I am worried about people not using them and then I have to fill the half empty camera's with pics of nothing, just to develop them. I'm still not sure though. hmmmmmmmmmmm....

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
we're doing it because we have a bunch of drunks that are going to be invited so those camera's will pose as blackmail photo's.
we're really doing it because its extra photos of the wedding it may capture something of the table that the photographer may not have captured...

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
If you find a developer that charges per picture, as most do, then you can have them developed even with a few unused images. Another idea is to appoint someone at each table as 'photographer' to insure that the camera is used...Plus you have the benefit of having some pictures immediately, as opposed to waiting months for the professionals.

Lauren, I am not going to be using them. We know that most people will be bringing their own camera, take pictures and then give us a set.

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I didn't want them at first but I changed my mind. I got them on ebay for like $3 each. There were a lot of dumb pictures, out of focus, but it was all we had for a long time until our proofs came back. We did get some really good ones. The photographer will not capture the same kind of stuff that your friends and family will with non-professional candid photos.

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I'll be using disposable cameras at the tables. I plan on doing what some other brides on this site have done, having a 'camera scavenger hunt'. We have a bunch of crazy friends and family who'd totally get a kick out of it. Basically, you make up a list of what things the people should be taking pictures of...
Here's a sample: A picture of the bride and groom when they don't think anyone is watching them Person most enjoying themselves on the dance floor Messiest cake eater Person whose birthday is closest to the wedding day Someone hoping no one is watching Someone who looks thrilled to be there! Two people smooching who normally wouldn't Most creative use of a centerpiece in a photo
It's also a good way to get people at the table to interact with each other (if they may not know one another that well).
Just a thought

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I used them and have the best pictures! Nothing corny or disgusting! People actually thought that some of them were from my photographer. Our guests used them and loved it and I have great pics! So it all depends on what kind of crowd you have, in my opinion. If you have mostly a young dancing crowd, your cameras will probably get used and you will get some great shots. But if you have an older crowd that will just sit at their tables all night and talk, then the cameras may not be as exciting. I recommed it!

Re: On the topic of Disposable Table Cameras
I am doing them I am a pic fanatic so whatever other pics I get will be a thrill.. And I will have the DJ remind the guests to use the cameras on the table, plus put the poem to remind them to use the flash, the scavenger hunt seems fun!
