Theresa's post got me thinking about crossing the line.
Fh and I were at a party a few weeks ago. This party was given by a very good female friend of his. This is a woman whom he used to have a huge crush on at one point many years ago. She lives out of the state, however they have a great friendship and adore one another. At this point in our lives I have accepted this.
Point of my story- this woman was intoxicated. She was very touchy feely, sitting on FH 's lap among other guys at the party- right in front of her husband. I don't know if I was jealous because she was acting this way with other guys, but I found it to be totally inappropriate behavior, not to mention un lady like.
What are your thoughts?
Is this appropriate behavior?

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
No - not appropriate in my book, and I would have become upset. An occasional touch on the arm or leg during a conversation is normal (I talk with my hands, so I understand that), but sitting on someone's lap is just crossing the line.
But that gets me thinking - what do you do to stop it without causing a scene...it's like you can't win in that situation.

Hmmm..not to come across as violent but anyone who would do that to my husband, her head and the sidewalk will meet. Totally inappropriate...intoxicated or not.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
I think its disrepectful but its YOUR HUSBAND should get the beating, not the girl. You husband is the one obligated to behave himself.
Unless the girl is your friend, she can and will do whatever she wants.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
This is EXACTLY WHY hubby and I DO NOT have ex-lovers, crushes, booty calls, etc. as friends, sorry there is no reason for this in my book. If that happened in front of me, I probably would have winded up spending the night in jail.

OMG-
I guess I was calm. As I said she was doing it with other guys.
I guess I kept my cool because Fh was not encouraging her behavior and he made sure HE was respectful. Also, you can NEVER let another woman see you at anything less than your best.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
Sitting on another man's lap when you are married is unnacceptable unless he's wearing a big red suit -and even then, if you're over 12 that needs to stop too! The woman who sits on my FH's lap is the woman w/ my shoe up her a$$ so far it has to be surgically removed!

HEy K..
This happened to me a long time ago with My ex. We were at a BBQ and some girl was there (married his friend) that he use to hook up with. SHe was very drunk and kept sitting on his lap and kissing his face. I was FUMING. So I sat across from them, and I lifted the table over and dumped it on their lap. Everything spilled all over her... SHe was PISSED. I said OPPS I did that. She was freaking out now that she was covered with food and drinks. I told HER 'STAY THE F OFF HIS LAP'. SOrry but the 10 dollar lap dances aren't offered at this party. I said find someone esle to co(K tease .....
Soon enuff they left the party..............

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
I'm with Sonicstef on this one. The girl may be out of line - totally - but it's your husband/boyfriend that is committed to you - not her - and thus it's him that should say & do something if that situation arises.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
Tammy Jill- as I said Fh was completely respectful to me. She sat on his lap (actually one leg of his lap) to take a pic and got up right after. However she was more inappropriate with the other guys at the party. I did not yell at him because it happened so fast and he did not encourage it.
