Theresa's post got me thinking about crossing the line.
Fh and I were at a party a few weeks ago. This party was given by a very good female friend of his. This is a woman whom he used to have a huge crush on at one point many years ago. She lives out of the state, however they have a great friendship and adore one another. At this point in our lives I have accepted this.
Point of my story- this woman was intoxicated. She was very touchy feely, sitting on FH 's lap among other guys at the party- right in front of her husband. I don't know if I was jealous because she was acting this way with other guys, but I found it to be totally inappropriate behavior, not to mention un lady like.
What are your thoughts?
Is this appropriate behavior?

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
This happened to my DH once... one of his (Former) best friends sister was hitting on him, trying to drag him up from a booth to dance one night at a bar... making an ass out of herself practically begging him... I didn't go out b/c I wasn't feeling well... the worst part is this girl KNOWS me and knew were engaged at the time and this didn't stop her from being all over him. He refused to get up and left soon after but was upset and told me about it. Everytime I see that b*tch now I pointedly ignore her. Have some respect!

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
It is indeed disrespectful behavior...not only to her husband but to all the wives at the party. I sometimes feel sad for women who starve for this kind of attention but it makes me furious as well.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
We have an aquaintance who does that... when i first met FH she was groping him and licked his face right in front of me (didn't see the lick or i would have left the party) Then 2 christmases ago she went to touch his 'thing'. I found out later or i would have made a scene. But if she EVER tries anything again i WILL have to humliate her in front of everyone!!! I would probably have done the same as Theresa. I actually did overturn a small table once. A girl was sitting on my ex-bf at the times lap (we had JUST broken up) and i flipped and turned a small table over and walked out... nothing spilled on anyone though.

Kysha you are too nice!! I would have been fuming!! At a friend's wedding there was a woman there who I didn't know. She knew FH apparently since he was 2 and when we ended up sitting next to each other she was on his side and kept putting her hand on his leg and just letting it sit there. I was irked and just kept staring at him. Clueless! All I said was excuse me but Babe I wanna dance. We went to dance and he had an earful from me!! I don't care if your 15, 30, or 60 you don't put your hands on my man!!

No one would dare try that with me in any way shape or form. Roger would not allow any woman to sit/lean on his lap. Unless of course she is fainting or its a baby.
He would not allow any sitting on any lap/leg in any way shape or form. He hates embarrasment and he hates for me to feel disrespected. Shame on her, her busband should have taken her out of there and given her a tongue lashing on respectable behavior in public. She should stay home until she learns how to behave.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
EWWWW can we say low selfesteem attention getting? Obviously she wasn't getting enough attention from her husband she felt that she had to make him jealous.
It wouldn't bother me - b/c FH would take care of her. HE HATES that type of behavior - he would do something to totally embarrass her. He once went to get us a drink and some girl at the bar asked him to buy her a drink - and he totally embarrased her with his comments - that she left him alone and apologized...
He wouldn't have let her sit on his lap though - he would have stopped it LONG before that happened
I am so glad all you ladies feel that this is TOTALLY inappropriate!!! I agree!!!
DH had a friend who did everything to break us up...including blantantly asking him to...even though she was dating his bestfriend at the time!!!
I feel for him...its an awkward situation to be in. You can't say 'eww get off me'...but I have hated her since...and can you believe she tells people she doesn't understand why I don't like her (innocent girl act)
being married is worse...DH is very careful aroundher anyway...the rare time we do see them...

I agree, totally inappropriate. FH hates that behavior and would have told her to get the hell of his lap

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
I think if the nature of their friendship includes flirty behavoir or hugging then this may be normal to them, regardless of whether a wife likes it or not. If you don't like this behavior you need to speak to your husband and tell him it makes you very uncomfortable and to please refrain from the flirty, touching feeling stuff with her in the future. That is a very fair and reasonable request.

Re: On the topic of disrespectful behavior
nvrbrd - My FH used to have a 'friend' that acted like this every once in w hile - she had a huge crush on my FH and would get drunk and hang all over him. They had gone on a few dates before he and I met, but he ended things and she was pi*&^ed when I came into the picture.
After a few times of her hanging on him, I told him I found it offensive and that it made me uncomfortable. It made him feel totally weird too. Basically we had to cut her out of all social occasions because she couldn't not act like a jerk and get drunk and hang on guys, not just my FH.
