Once you placed an offer, how long did it take for you to hear back?

We placed an offer on a house Sunday morning and were told we'd hear back that evening.

Well, it's Tuesday afternoon and NO word yet!! I figured it would take longer than 1 evening since there were a few other bids, but I thought we'd hear by now.....

I just left a msg for my realtor but wondered what the norm was?

good luck teri...maybe they are reviewing the contingencies? like who is putting more down? or who can have a shorter/longer escrow?

Yep, that's what they're looking at. We both put 20% down but I'm not sure if they need to sell anything before buying this place. That's what makes us such nice contenders

HOPEFULLY we'll hear by tomorrow!

We found out right away. After we walked through the house, we went back to the RE office to discuss, the agent called the homeowners with our offer .. and they accepted after a couple of general questions .. like how quickly could we move out of our apartment (lucky for us, we were month-to-month .. otherwise, the offer/acceptance process may not have happened so quickly).

If you don't get this house, you may want to think about working with a new agent. They should be in touch with you regarding your offer and it shouldn't take this long to hear back.

That's JMO though.

We actually didn't have a choice working with her - believe me, we are not impressed!!

I'm currently working with about 5 agents who contact me when they hear of new houses....so this woman was the one to find this house first - no one else did, so I had no choice but to go through her to see it.

I'm definitely disappointed in this office's practices though (the listing agent works in the same office as my agent)

well, I did get an update from the realtor last Thurs, saying the bids were all with the seller's attorney. If that's true, he/she is taking WAY too long to make this decision! I haven't heard back since.

I'm going to give it til tomorrow and then follow up again.

NOPE! I've accepted the fact that we lost the house probably due to this moran, so I'm determined to harass her until she has the b@lls to call me back and tell me what happened.

I called her 2 days ago on her cell, she asked if she could call me back and I never heard back WHO DOES THIS??!!

Then yesterday I call her office, she's not in so I leave a msg with the actual listing agent, explaining the story.

If I don't hear back by today, off I go to call them again.....

I need to find out how to file a complaint with the realtor board of someone......

I would file a complaint with the realtor that she lists under (Century 21, etc.). I'm sure the office manager would LOVE to know they are losing potential business due to an agents lack of follow up.
