FFIL is getting worse. He's been in the hospital for a couple of days. Now he has pneumonia and is on a ventilator.
I have this terrible feeling in my gut he is not coming home. Ever. I know it is a terrible way to think, but it just seems like everything keeps getting worse and worse.

FMIL got a call from the hospital around noon saying 'he has taken a turn for the worst and we need you to come back right now.'
Talk about making someone HYSTERICAL.
She gets there and he is exactly the same as this morning. Which isn't exactly good but when you call and say that someone on a respirator has taken a turn for the worst - well you think the WORST.
Some idiot nurse was starting her shift, noticed the change from yesterday, and called the house. She meant well, but didn't she realize he was put on a ventilor with the consent of the family? Meaning that we already knew that?
OMG - Just hearing the story from FH made me tear up. His mom is already on an emotional rollercoaster. She doesn't need this crap!
