we are getting married in Oct and everyone keeps telling me that is hurricane season and to stay away from certain places.
Can you please let me know where to go so we do not get washed away by a hurricane? everyone is telling me to head over to Mexico - any suggestions would be a life saver!
Thanks!

You should check out Aruba -- it is outside of the hurricane belt.

I am heading to aruba in dec :( and we can change the reservations - we did it through a time share that FIL gave us as a gift!
Would love to head there in Oct - thanks for the suggestion though!

What I did was I decided all the places we might want to go and then googled the hurrican seasons by location. We settled on Hawaii and we should be fine. If you want to go to Mexico, google 'Mexico Hurricane season' You should be able to find a schedule of when you should and should not go.

How about Hawaii, Aruba or Tahiti? You can also go to Europe.

Re: One more honeymoon question and that is it!!!
we had the same problem since we are getting married in September.....we decided to do a 12 day cruise on Princess to Hawaii & Tahiti
just be careful with Mexico-- certain areas can get hit pretty hard by hurricanes also

well Aruba .. Bonaire or Curacao are all out of the hurricane belt and they are all nice ...
Well Mexico is definately not outside of the hurricane belt... so if you really want to be safe then Aruba and I think Barbados aswell.

I would agree, some of the island hurricane seasons end in Oct. It's better to do your research before you decide. Ask the travel agents too. Good Luck, I haven't decided on one yet either.

Hi! I suggest Aruba. Its absolutely beautiful there - it is my favorite Island. I went in September and the weather is gorgeous. I would stay away from Mexico. I had a trip planned to Riviera Maya last year in October and the hurricane hit there and I had to change my whole trip at the last minute. I wound up having to go to Jamiaca which was horrible!

Dominican Republic... for some reason doesn't get hit by hurricanes (knock on wood). I was there last October (2006) and the weather was beautiful. I will admit that it did rain every night...but at like 1am. It was quick and short, and was beautiful again right away. It was even kind of nice to get the rain. I was in Punta Cana.
