One more question...

One more question...

We are having a few little girls 2-3 years old at the shower. We all know how adorable children can steal the show, so I'd rather keep them occupied than running around looking cute. Any suggestions to keep them in their seats? They are very close members of the family so I can spend even $20 on each. I thought of buying Bride Barbies, but after a few minutes, then what?

Has anyone had any experiences with children at bridal showers? Am I wrongly concerned?
Thanks.

Get a lunch box or some other sort of cute box (they have at Michael's) and fill it with coloring books, crayons, stickers ect. Maybe a paper dollie type thing (wedding themed?) You could decorate the outside of the box with wedding themes stickers and stuff. Thats what I plan on doing for the kids.

that's what i am doing. i debate having all the kids at their own table with their parents at the next table, but i want to go to the dollar store and just buy coloring books, crayons, tiny games and tiny dolls, stuff like that and i might ask the catering hall if they could put white paper on their table instead of linens just in case thye get sloppy with crayons or play doh. but check out the dollar stores-they have tons of stuff for the little guys and kids love lots of stuff, rather than 1 big thing!

Thanks. These are great ideas. I think they make Barbie or Strawberry shortcake lunch boxes, or something along those lines, right? I can't wait to shop for them.

I would make like goodie bags for them - with EVERYTHING wrapped - that will really proccupy them forcing them to open things - it will also keep them from feeling bad that they don't get to open things while the bride does.

I would put in small things like -:

A doll
tea cup or cooking set (you can get cute sets at like a dollar store that usually keeps young children occupied)
coloring books -
how about those markers that ONLY write on certain paper coloring books - that way they can't write all over the restaurant walls etc)
some sort of kids jewelry or dress up jewelery

You can most likely get all of that for 20 or under depending on the price of the doll. This should keep them occupied - maybe you can tell them they can open 1 of the gifts every 30 mins so they are consistantly busy for the afternoon
