One of my ringbearers......

watched a show where a little boy was a ringbearer, now he is petrified and said he won't walk down

I have 2 RB, one is 5, one is 2 & a half. The 5 yr old is so scared!!

So...we are going to call him an usher and have to tell our monsignor to call him USHER NOT ringbearer

I hope he walks!

So cute!
I decided I am not going to worry about whether or not mine walks! More than likely he's not going to! I guess if he makes it through the pictures then I'll be happy!

I'd sugar coat it with talk about the limos and the tuxedo. It worked for me. Good luck!!!

Re: One of my ringbearers......

My RB lives in Vancouver Canada, his mom is one of my BM's, they wont be coming here untill a few days before the wedding, I'm so scared he will freak out and not go down the isle. His mom called me yesterday and said she is going to practice with him now, so he will be ok by the wedding. He will be 4 by my wedding, the last time FH and I saw him he was only a year, so he doesnt know us to well also.....we will see how it goes!

I am seriously going to bribe him, I'll tell him if he walks I'll but him a toy?

Having that toy at the end of the aisle usually works...

Re: One of my ringbearers......

You could just have one of his parents at the front of the church & just say walk to Mommy/Daddy. Or you can have him walk down w/ the MOH.

Jenn- what if you bribe him with candy - give him some before it starts and some when he gets to the end of the aisle (and also offer a toy!) Good Luck! Our ringbearer will be only 21 months, but I think he'll do it. The other one we wanted was going to be 25 months but his parents said they know he won't do it so they don't want to waste the tux money.

Re: One of my ringbearers......

LOL Jenn - at my GF's wedding a few years ago the 4 yr old FG was put in my charge (her mother was a BM) - she would NOT walk down the aisle, no matter what. We coaxed and pleaded and she begged me to come with her (I was not a BM...was wearing a dressy pantsuit) and at the very last second we thought she was going to go but she turned, looked at me, burst into tears and ran back to me. I picked her up and carried her out because she was WAILING. It was actually kind of funny. She was fine at the reception.

This thread is seriously making me consider having my dog as the ring bearer! All I need is a cooky at the altar and we're set! I wonder if I can get him a tux....

Re: One of my ringbearers......

My ring bearer and jr. Bridesmaid don't speak English (they live in Poland with FI's brother and sister-in-law). This ought to be interesting. I think they will walk, but I worry about them knowing what to do and how to follow the mass. Hmmm...

Re: One of my ringbearers......

Let him walk down with his mom or Dad. Even if that day he is scared it is fine. Many adults hate being in front of so many starring eyes, so for a child it can be very scary. I figured that it would be no big deal if my little ones decided at the last minute not to walk down. They still looked real cute.

How about having someone walk down with him, an usher perhaps or a bridesmaid that he knows? Otherwise, he's going to see the eyes on him and run the other way (possibly literally)....

Jenn----
They watched the episode of Little Bill didn't they?????
My ringbearer watched it too!!!!!
Little Bill was walking down the isle with a pillow and all the people in the pews turned to monsters!
My little cousin is petrified that everyone is going to turn into monsters.
Wait until I get my hands on who wrote that **** show!!!!!!!
