One of our GMs bailed (vent, long, sorry)

One of our GMs bailed (vent, long, sorry)

None of our BP had sent in responses, so FH and I made a point in this last week or so to call them all up and double check that they were coming (and if they were bringing their spouses). So he called up one of his GM on Friday and the guy says that his wife is going to stay home with their baby and he's going to come, but he doesn't know how he'll get there or where he'll stay. He doesn't have a car and lives OOT, but in the same city as the other GM (all of whom he's known for a very long time). FH says that one of the other GM offered this one a ride, so get in touch with him, see where everyone else is staying, let us know. We got a call Saturday night and he's not coming.
1. I'm annoyed that this guy (who has known the date of the wedding since September) waited until this weekend to even look into the cost/burden of coming to the wedding. Although he's apparently proven unreliable in the past I think it's really pathetic to put so little thought and energy into trying to get to one of your closest friend's wedding.
2. I feel terrible for FH. A lot of his friends and family can't make it, because it's a big trip for them and his family and friends make up only about 1/4 of the attending guest list.

Also, now we have 3 GM (including BM) and 6 BM (including MoH). Would it look weird if we lined them up like this:

(MoH) (BM)

Well he stinks! That is really rude and I am sorry for your FH.

I would have the girls walk down the aisle on their own if that is an option.

I would have the girls walk down alone, and the guys wait at the altar with your FH. Then on the way back,

(MOH/BM)

or

(MOH/BM/someone else)

Are your MOH/BM family members? Can you add another close family member to the triplet?

And I'm very sorry that your GM left the bridal party

I would do it like this-it'll be really cute.

I'm sorry he dropped out so late in the game, sounds like he is very inconsiderate and hadn't really taken the role of BM seriously. You are better off without him.

As for FH's side not showing up; don't fret, the most important person in his life will be their to support him (you!)

That totally stinks! I fully understand what you're going through as I had 2 BM and 1 GM drop out with weeks to go. I ended up with 5 girls and 7 guys. Doubling people up is totally fine, as I did it too.

I have also seen weddings where just the girls walk down the aisle and the men are already at the altar. But, if you do that, you still need to double up when they walk back down the aisle after the ceremony.

And you know what?!?!? I didn't miss any of them on the wedding day. So, enjoy yourself and be happy about those that are there, not be mad about those that aren't.

I'm so sorry, Steph!! That's horrible and really rude of him to pull so close to your big day!!

The line-up you have is fine, don't stress over it.

i feel for your fh he must be so bummed
we also have different numbers of bm and gm - having the girls go down on their own with the men waiting at the altar looks really nice if that helps at all

I feel bad for you! I had a JGM back out and then a BM back out just a few agos, thank god it didnt happen any later. I know how you feel.
The BM's dress were already ordered and all, thank god i had someone take over the dress, same size and all.
It's ok if you have them walk 2 and 1
It wont look stupid, I've seen it before!
