Is all the spam! So I got a call from a bridal show stating that I won. Problem is I do not remember going to this particular bridal show, I know I went to one the day after. They claim I won a trip 3 days and 2 nights and I get to pick from over 20 locations. A $1000 grocery store gift card and all I have to do is go to some place and fill out surverys and all this other stuff. I know its a scam, but I get calls like this all the time! I have a Mary Kay woman that calls everyday from a bridal show. And the best part is that I have only gone to two shows and never stopped at the booths, they got my info from registering for the actual show!

I get these all the time!!! I can't stand it! And they tell you that you have to go to such and such hotel to claim it! It's annoying I feel your pain!!!

Oh me too... whenever we went to a bridal show, for the next 3 months we were getting sooo many spam phone calls and emails... Soooo annoying.. Like we don't have enough to worry about?? lol

ive been gettn alot recently saying they got my number from liweds... its actually pretty aggravating bc i didnt sign up on this site to be harrassed by vendors... if i want to talk to you, i'll contact you, not the other way around

ugh . .me too. it's one thing if they gave email but my phone is irritating to call me. . if I wanted a vendor I would call THEM. .. the calls say LI weddings said you needed asked for . . a

But how is it a scam? I wouldnt consider myself to be naive...they just called me....RK Bridal that is and told me the same exact thing they told the original poster and that i have to claim my gifts at the laguardia hotel on friday...

Exactly....I got it too. There was no way I was going to lagardia airport. If it was a true prize they would mail to you.

I stopped answering calls from numbers I dont know. Between LI Wedding Vendors and damn Cablevision my phone rings NON STOP.
Now they started calling from Restricted numbers too...so I don't know what to do..its so aggravating!

I went to a bridal showcase and this is the basic jist of the conversation I had with the registration table:
Me: Hi Them: Hi. Name? Me: Oh, I didn't register. I am only here for a DJ demo. Them: Ok.. Are you having your wedding here? Me: Nope Them: Ok, I'll just take your name and number down anyway. Me: Oh, no... I don't want to give my number out because the last time I did, I kept getting calls from random vendors and honestly, it's quite annoying.
Do not ever give your number. They can't make you.

Me too! I think it's really annoying, also not to mention all of the junk mail, what a waste of paper!
