Mima Cat I don't know very much about you... Well, other than you love squirrels and your cat has asthma. Oh and your FH works for the LIRR with mine. But every time I talk to you- you're causing trouble!!!!! But that's why you make the boards fun!!!!

Honestly, I think all of this starts just b/c I'm the prettiest bride and everyone is super jealous of me. I know how it is.

LOL... I already asked her if her cat had a little nebulizer for his asthma treatments. She said no but can you picture that... A cute little cat with a nebulizer over his mouth and whiskers!

P.S: Mima I am not laughing at the fact your cat has asthma!

Yes, my cat has asthma! Its really really awful. Its a lonnnng story, but she cost me a lot of cash and has to be on meds forever!

That is SO sad. I have two dogs and two cats and I know allll about the hells of vet bills.

Not to be an asssshole, but can your cat move around a lot or does he just kind of have to chill out all the time?

LOL originally they DID give me an inhaler for her w/a special attachment to go over a cat mouth/nose. As you can imagine, she just LOVED it.

Ok I'll tell you the story of my Mimacat.

I had wanted a cat, and I went to petco and saw cats in the cage in the front... so I tried to adopt one, but they make you go through a long a$$ waiting period, and I decided to rescute a kitty from the pound instead. So I went down to Islip Animal Shelter and looked at all the kitties. They were all meowing and trying to get my attention, and there's little Mima. Laying in her cage, with a little cough. I picked her up (I wasnt supposed to, but I did) and she was so sweet and calm. Little did I know this was b/c she was near death! Anyhow, they told me that her 'cough' was a 'hairball' and so I paid my $30 and took her. Aw little Mima!

I brought her to my vet for her checkup, and he informed me that her 'hairball' was actually Croup, which is common in shelter cats. She had an antibiotic and I took her home, but poor little Mima continued to cough and have some difficulty breathing. It almost looked like she was trying to cough something up.

One morning right before I was about to leave for school I noticed that she was having a lot of trouble breathing, so I rushed her to the vet. She almost didnt make it. She had to be put out and intibated (sp) and the checked her for obstructions. Then I had to rush her to the cat EMERGENCY room, where she had to be on Oxygen for 24 hours! Turns out her croup exacerbated her apparant asthma, and she had a near fatal asthmatic crisis!! This is very rare in cats, I'm told. Originally they gave me an inhaler, but she did NOT want to partake in that, so now she gets a pill daily (prednisone) She's an indoor cat, so she can be active in the house. So far she's only had a few minor breating issues, but I give her a pill and shes much better.

Everyone thinks I'm nutty b/c I only had her a week when she had all of these problems, and I shelled out well over 3k to fix her, but I think when you get a pet you make a committment to them! How could I justify blowing money on pocketbooks and vacations if I wasn't willing to pay for my pet? Anyhow, little Mima is doing well now, and she's fat and truely thinks I'm her mother. FYI, she HATES FH w/a passion.
