One thing that brings me down...

about planning this wedding is that too many vendors have asked me 'What about grandmothers? -- What about fathers?'

and I have neither on both sides...

Both sets of Grandparents have passed away

And both Fathers are alive but non-existent in either of our lives -- I doubt that they even KNOW we are getting married. Its really sad and over the years I have learned to deal with it, but I guess it's just the whole idea of the wedding without my father that opens up the old wound -- I find myself thinking about it more and more as it gets closer

((But even if he was in my life now, he doesn't deserve the honor of walking me down the aisle, my MOTHER does ))

My Grandmothers are gone too - both of them.
And my Mom is passed away almost 3 years ago, I know what you mean, it's very depressing

I know what you mean I dont have any living grandparents, but they will all be with us on our day looking down on us

thats so sad, but maybe you can honor them at the wedding.

BTW none of my vendors asked me about grandparents, naybe bc I am so old

We don't have any grandparents or parents. John's Mother is still alive (thank-God but she was just given a limit) But she wasn't going to fly over anyway. She's NEVER left Ireland & is petrified to fly.

Oh dont worry, they are just routine questions. Both FH and I only have our moms.
