Online dating??

I have a friend who really wants what she calls a 'pet boy' and can't find one. (Could her terminology be part of her problem? ) Anyway, she also has some kind of allergy to online dating. I'm definitely showing her this thread.

Me too but on Love@AOL. My best friend met her DH the same way too.

I am very proud to have met FH online (Yahoo to be exact) and don't hide it. Actually when we met the priest who is marrying us and told him our 'how we met' storym he thought it was VERY cool

And I'm not just saying this b/c he's going to be my hubby, but Anthony is the best person (man or woman) I've ever known .. and hands down he's the BEST guy I've ever dated .. on my own I was meeting idiots, and then online I met the man of my dreams! LOL

Now friends of mine who were skeptical of online dating are now doing it or thinking of doing it after meeting Anthony and seeing how wonderful he is (and how happy we are )

I'm not sure if EVERYONE in our lives knows EXACTLY how we met.. my parents know, and my friends... but everyone does know we met online in some aspect ....(if not exaxctly 'online personals' per se..)

To be honest I always though people who met people online were weird.... Ever since joing LIWeddings and making friendships with so many girls I can understand and I now feel it is definately possible. Good Luck to you all!

I met my DH through match.com. It was the best $30 he ever spent!!! I have all the emails he wrote me when we first met.

Dh & I met online...Lavalife.com. It was the first time either of us had dated anyone from the internet. We were so nervous the other was going to be a wierdo...

I met DH at work but I know several people who have used online dating services who have gotten married. I am trying so hard to convince one of my best friends to do it, but she refuses. She has been single for several years and hasn't had a decent man in a long time. I am tempted to send her this topic so she can see how common it is.

You should! FWIW, I felt weird about the whole online thing too. But after a handful of set-ups that didn't work out, I decided that I preferred the 'net. There was always awkwardness with a set-up that didn't go anywhere (long stories!)! But with a 'net date, you at least know you'll never have to deal with the person again if it turns out to be a bad date!

I met FH through eHarmony.com a little more than a year ago.
