How many people met there significant other on the computer... ill admit i did... his family and our friends dont know that though, mine does... we tell the others at a club..

Bxgell2 met her DH on jdate and they're the best matched couple I've ever met. It's becoming so common these days! It's a great way of prescreening people ... you learn so much more about them right away than you would if you met them anyplace else. I think it's so cool! As far as the post that said, 'Who cares if you met online...' I think she meant, 'You have nothing to hide...lots of people do it!'

Definitely! There are so many people that met online that are getting married now. There were posts about this not too long ago (I think they were on the BHB board though.)

FYI many people on this board have been around awhile and have become very friendly. we dont get 'nasty' and curse each other out.. just to let you know...

I think the problem is that people miscontrue the tone of certain messages. I agree that the response was totally uncalled for, but if you thought someone was saying, 'I don't care how you met your husband. Why are you even posting this crap?', you'd get offended too. We all just get a little sensitive sometimes. Let's give the newbie the benefit of the doubt.

DH and I are pioneers of internet dating. We met 7 years ago on aol. It was in a chat room and what started off as buddies chatting, led to phone calls, and led to meeting in Person. I lived in TX at the time and he lived in NY. And then we lived happily ever after!

We met in a Prodigy chat room.... it was the first day of my winter vacation (in HS!) and we were all snowed in... Since we lived locally we started chatting... then we mostly talked on the phone and then we met... took about two months for me to realize I liked him and he asked me out about 3 days later!! :) We've been together over 8 years now!
ETA: My family knows how we met but he had just gotten online at the time and his parents told him 'not to meet anyone from the computer'... so I don't think they know!!

I met DH at work but I know several people who have used online dating services who have gotten married. I am trying so hard to convince one of my best friends to do it, but she refuses. She has been single for several years and hasn't had a decent man in a long time. I am tempted to send her this topic so she can see how common it is.
