With 207 people coming to the wedding so far, we only have 7 rooms booked at the hotel!!! Is this normal? To people usual wait till the last minute to book their rooms???

one of my BMs booked her room the night before she arrived! my mom booked 2 rooms just in case someone forgot and it came in handy b/c my friend waited too long! so my mom cancelled it and my friend immediately called the hotel to take it! My OOTs knew about the hotel almost 4 months in advance...so there was little room for excuses.

We have lots of people coming from out of state (Florida, Pennsylvania, Rodie Island...etc.) So I am getting frustrated that people aren't on top of that!!!

um....YES!!!! People are infuriating! My mom had people calling her to 'complain' that they couldn't get in on our hotel block the week before the wedding even though our save-the-dates and invitation insert clearly stated that the cutoff date was June 1...grrr

Yes, people wait to the last minute. Why, I don't know! But you may also have people who block rooms at the hotel w/out the wedding code. This happened to me on about 5 occasions b/c they had hotel points or something. And some people will wait to reserve after the deadline.

Yeah, they do.
BUT you may want to make sure that the hotel has everyone in your group too. I didn't see people that I KNEW were going to be staying at the hotel on the list and I emailed them and they wrote back saying they had made the reservation.
The hotel didn't have it under the group.....
You are getting married at Giorgio's, right? Which hotel are you using?

I'm sorry! It's frustrating! A lot of people do wait until the last minute but, they are cutting it close now with less than a month to go!
As my mom has been telling me when I've been worried about this, if you provided the information with the cut off, it's not your problem (I know, easier said than done).

We have about 18 rooms booked. But people have been booking for a while since we sent out hotel with our STD info in Feb.

I had to keep having the deadline extended and more rooms added to our block. Eventually the hotel was sold out so those people that waited too long were just out of luck. At first I felt bad but then I was like it is their fault for waiting! Ugh!

Yikes! Then they are being slow! I have a bunch of people that haven't booked rooms yet. I have family from upstate that haven't RSVPd and haven't booked rooms yet. I feel badly too because I keep asking the girl at the hotel for updates and she says no new reservations.

The majority of my FH's family is from out of state, some from Texas. Yet, only 3 rooms are booked so far and out of the three one of them is ours for the night. Guess they plan on sleeping in their car.
