Only me, I tell ya...

Original post by JennRenee

I went back to the Dr. this morning so that he could check my stitches again, and found out that the reason I'm not healing well is because it appears that I am ALLERGIC to the stitches. It figures... leave it to me to be the medical freak.

Soooo... today he removed the stitches (some had already disolved) and treated me with some sort of acid film that will promote healing, and I have to go back in 2 weeks to be checked and possibly treated again.

On the plus side, it's nice to know that this is NOT all in my head as some of my family members suggested, but I'm in pain from today's treatment, and THAT is not fun.

You're not a freak -- It happened to me, too. My body rejected the 'internal stitches' from my c-section and they kept coming out of the incision. It had happened to me previously, when I had foot surgery, but I neglected to mention it to my doctor! (dumb, dumb!) It took a very long time for it to heal.

As far as feeling like my 'old self' - I'm still waiting (and the boys are 1!).

Jenn, as far as feeling myself.. I cant remember specifically. But I know for my 2 week checkup at the OB, I was READY to get out and about, but of course my BODY still needed healing and rest.
My mind is ahead of my body sometimes. I WANT TO get going and do do do, but then when I'd sit or lay down, Id feel exhausted and sore (the incision). The incision itself definately took, I think a few months (at least 2?) before it felt 'normal' again. I know during december I had my reg clothes back on
and was feeling pretty good. But as far as a scar healing, I think each person has their own healing time, and depending on where the scar is it may take more or less time. The location of the c-section scar is at a point where you use those muscles to do EVERYTHING, right at the bottom of your stomach muscles, getting up, sitting down, shifting positions sitting, EVERYTHING was felt in that area too... and im sure yours are very sensitive too.

Lots of hugs hun
