onto the next one: photographers

Original post by guitarstikibars

i'm meeting with JayLim and Redsweatshirt this weekend. Any info, quotes, tips?

I'm waiting to hear back from Duet ... who else should I try out? I really want photojournalistic ... I want to avoid like the plague the typical wedding photography.

TVI is recommending Park Ave Studio and has a great deal going ... but I've heard mixed reviews.

I'm absolutely in love with my photographer.. by far my favorite vendor. We literally contacted at least 40 different photographers! Haha.. we were very picky. Her work is very romantic, soft, and candid.

I am most likely not even going to bother with them. They have not returned my correspondence. All of the others I reached out to got back to me in less than 24 hours. So, already wary.

Depends on what you want/need...They definitely were able to work around the package and customize what you want and the price goes along with that! If you love their pictures, I'd at least set up a meeting and see what they can do!! Only thing is that we went to them first (I think) and I HATED everyone else compared to them LOL

Haha that's the worst!!

I have an appointment set with them for Saturday. I'm meeting with another photographer on Friday evening. I really do love their photos, so I'm hoping we can make it work!

It really was the worst. FH was like let's keep looking. So I booked two more, didn't like them. Then told FH that he needs to find other photogs, then I have him a month. Went back to FH and said did you make any appt's he said 'go sign the Jay Lim contract!!' VICTORY!!

That is flippin awesome and hilarious, brilliant strategy!. The FW is on overdrive trying to book vendors (because 2 close Future Bride Friends booked literally everything last month... for next summer). What's the rush?! Enjoy the process. We're a tag-team effort, I finally got her to start using the site now too...

Anyways, GO SEE JAYlim!!... His photo's are the epitome of photo-Journalism. Jay and his team went to school for it and even have a history in Fashion photography. Go and see their presentation. They have multipleeee post-processing techniques and when you add it all together, you will look like a Model (Bride) that belongs in a Magazine!

Photo alone is priced great. His video combo packages do jump, but his videos looked pretty legit. Loved by the FW, above avg to me. I wanted to go the JAYlim-Photo/Ingoglia-Video route if feasible, but waiting on Jay's crew to see what we're gonna do.

Ohhh they did have a lot of cool little photo related trinkets (mini-books, cards, random ish a photo can be printed on) on display that I generally didn't see elsewhere. (not included, but nice to see stuff like that existing in-shop)
