i'm meeting with JayLim and Redsweatshirt this weekend. Any info, quotes, tips?

I'm waiting to hear back from Duet ... who else should I try out? I really want photojournalistic ... I want to avoid like the plague the typical wedding photography.

TVI is recommending Park Ave Studio and has a great deal going ... but I've heard mixed reviews.

I'm a bit scared by the package they recommend - over $5k. I need to get lower ... is that possible with them?

I highly recommend Ruby Star. They are a husband and wife team that only take on one wedding a week so they book up pretty fast. Amy (the wife) is also the house photographer at the Paramount in Huntington so she is awesome at photojournalism!

Jay Lim is awesome!!! Is the $5k for photo/video?? If so that is a great deal.

Depends on what you want/need...They definitely were able to work around the package and customize what you want and the price goes along with that! If you love their pictures, I'd at least set up a meeting and see what they can do!! Only thing is that we went to them first (I think) and I HATED everyone else compared to them LOL

Haha that's the worst!!

I have an appointment set with them for Saturday. I'm meeting with another photographer on Friday evening. I really do love their photos, so I'm hoping we can make it work!

It really was the worst. FH was like let's keep looking. So I booked two more, didn't like them. Then told FH that he needs to find other photogs, then I have him a month. Went back to FH and said did you make any appt's he said 'go sign the Jay Lim contract!!' VICTORY!!

Just a note, Redsweatshirt does not have insurance - from the last I heard - so some venues don't allow that.

If you do not want traditional pictures, you could check out Thomas Paul. His style is creative/ artistic, and that was exactly what FH and I were looking for.

I would check out Lighthouse, North Island, and Thomas Paul. They are all REALLY photo-journalistic type photos and all fantastic.

I booked with Ken Hild because I wanted something in the middle. Not WAY photo journalistic and not typical wedding photos. He was my happy medium and I'm so excited to have him as our photographer!!
