Oops.

So this lady at work who has been coming in every day for a large donation from our company came in today to pick up the certificate we were giving her.

She came in every day this week to see what we were able to donate...and every day she stopped in I wasn't able to ask my parents (the owners) what we were donating, so I asked her to call me the following day. And every day she showed up (not called) and told our receptionist that 'my friend' was here. I don't even know this lady and I have a few friends with the same name, so I was confused the first 2 times she came in.

So back to today...the receptionist comes to my desk and says 'your friend Christine is on Line 1.' I start ******ing to my mom (her office is next to mine) that this lady has not left me alone all week and that I don't know why she keeps referring to me as her friend when she's basically a complete stranger. So I then go to pick up the phone and no one is on line 1...I don't know where the confusion was...but the woman was right outside my door and must have heard everything I said.

I felt like such a bad person...and such an ***!! I wanted to apologize but I felt like it would make the whole situation more awkward!! It wasn't at all a problem with the donation itself...just that she didn't give me a second to talk to anyone about it and (even though I am on LIW...lol) I'm actually really busy here at work!

Plus...of course, this woman is a customer of ours. Not that I'll ever see her, but still.

Now this'll bother me alllll day learned my lesson!

oh no!!!!
i'm sorry about the confusion, but if she didn't say anything to you afterwards, at least she let you save face. just look at it this way, she really shouldn't have been so pushy because she doesn't know how people will react. at least she will be gettingthe donation. but she might want to learn new methods of chatting people up for donations, stalking people is not the way

Thank you! You made me feel a little better about it I almost died when I realized she was behind the door.

Agreed, maybe she'll learn a lesson as well.

I wouldn't worry about it
