Re: OOT Bags
well now that I am doing bags and not baskets ( baskets are easier to fill up) so far I have small bottles of merlot, prob put small bag of pretzels and not sure what else. i have to see what size bag I get. personalized water bottles guest are getting as they leave the reception so I dont have to worry about that to put in the bag.

Re: OOT Bags
uhhh, how do you decide how many to make and where to leave them?
I was wondering about that and if I should do them. I know the only real OOT guests that will come are FI's mom and sister, who live in NC and my brother who just moved to Ohio. But everyone else is pretty much local (at least the people who will be coming to the wedding. we invited quite a few OOT but doubt they will come)

Re: OOT Bags
We tried for a 'NY Theme' because we had a lot of OOT guests. But it didn't last too long... :)
We had:
-packages of mini b&w cookies (buy them in Costco- they are delish! And were a big hit!) -little boxes of cookies shaped like taxi cabs (they were in like an animal cracker box) -2 bottles of water -peanut m&m's -package of trail mix -mints I feel like there was something else, but I can't think of what...
Oh, and we included a 'Playbill' spinoff of a welcome letter. My DH is very creative and wanted to do this, and I must admit it turned out really cute. We made little playbill brochures- based on real playbills. So, we had the 'cast'- pics and funny bios of everyone in our wedding party. A synopsis of 'acts'- it went through the many stages of our relationship, up until the wedding. We had a 'Scenes and Numbers' page- that went through the weekend- what was going on when; When people should be where. And then we included an article about LI that we had found in the NY Times.
People LOVED them. It was a nice way for OOT guests to not only have something to welcome them, and have something for them to read, but also a great way for people to know who was in the bridal party (we had 6 on each side + parents).

Re: OOT Bags
We got a free booklet from the NYS Tourism Department, and then added a pamphlet about the hotel they were staying in PLUS
2 mini bottles of water 2 mini cans of coke 2 mini cans of Diet coke gum granola bar mini bag of pretzels mini bag of cookies mini bag of ritz bits mints peanuts mini hershey bars
We only had about 20 bags to do, and I went shopping pre-halloween so getting all the mini stuff was easy and helped keep the costs down.
