OOT bags

We blocked rooms at a hotel for everyone, but not everyone is choosing to stay there...soooo, my question is...do I make OOT bags for everyone from out-of-town or just those that are staying at the hotel I blocked rooms at? eeek...thank you!

I was thinking of just making New York goodie bags for those who made the trip from outside the state to come to our wedding.

Between his family and mine, a lot of people are coming from out of state (west coast and the southeast)...do I find out from everyone where they're staying and drop off the bags?

Re: OOT bags

We set aside rooms at one hotel, and I will only be providing out of town boxes to the people who stay there. If people choose another hotel that's fine, I just think it's WAAAAY too much work to find out where everyone is staying and run around dropping boxes to each location. I'm all about simple and easy...

I will be leaving them in the hotel rooms that are occupied.

What we are doing is doing them for the hotel block and then doing a few extra for my FH's parents and family who chose to stay at another hotel (don't ask..). My mom keeps asking me to find out where everyone else is but I don't know how I'd really realistically do that.

for the OOT's not staying at the hotel, we gave them their OOT boxes the night before at the RD.

what happens if you dont have anyone out of state. are you still making them for the people that blocked rooms at the hotel that you blocked the rooms

Re: OOT bags

We're going to get a total number of rooms booked for our wedding from the hotel about a week before (doesn't matter if the people in the rooms are from out of state or not), and then add 10 to that (for any really last minute people) and make up that many boxes... We're going to leave all the boxes at the hotel a day before everyone checks in and ask the staff to hand a box to anyone there for our wedding when they check in.

Did that make sense???

This whole 'welcome box for hotel guests' is making me a little insane!!!

Re: OOT bags

everyone was from OOT, and although it took a bit of work (*a few people sending out emails before the wedding) we were able to find out where 90% of them were staying and drop off boxes. It took a few hours, but a bunch of people helped and it was fun. Many people appreciated them and commented on how nice it was to get one after the long trip out to the North Fork.
