OOT Brides

For all of you out of town brides, How did you get your dress to NY if you ordered it where you live now??? I live in VA and got my dress in VA, but now I am starting to worry how to get it to NY!!??!! If I have to take it myself, then where can I bring it to get the wrinkles out?? Please help!!

Hi Katie, Yeah I am a bit worried about this as well.

My dress should be all ready next weekend an dmy Mom will be here for my VA shower so she plans to take it back to NY that way. I think if you have it pressed and lay it out in the car (are you driving) it should be ok....I'd love to hear ideas though since I might have this prob too!

My mom wants my to ask Macy's (where I am getting the dress from) if they can send it to Macy's in NY once the dress is fitted, or if the Macy's in NY can at least steam it for me once I bring it to NY. I am going to ask when I go for my first fitting.

Mine is pretty simple chiffon that didn't even wrinkle much in the box it was shipped from Netbride. I am going to try to be very careful and have it hung up in first class on the plane. I am going to ask nicely

I'm not an OOT Bride but I used to work for Macy's and I dont think it would be a problem for them to steam it for you-its definately worth a shot!

BUMP..

Any other suggestions as I am in the same boat. Oh, and I got my gown from a small bridal store here in Chicago so I'm pretty sure they don't have another store out of state.

Are there bridal salons that would do steam one's gown for a minimal fee?
