OOT Bridesmaid Issue (kinda long)

OOT Bridesmaid Issue (kinda long)

Do OOT Bridesmaids help with the shower if they are not coming? I have two local bridesmaids and one bridesmaid (FSIL) who is in Texas. She will not be coming up for the shower b/c she can't afford the plane ticket. But my two local bridesmaids think she should help with the shower (even though she is not coming) because she is still a bridesmaid after all. The thing is she is financially strapped and I know if my girls ask her to help out financially, she will just have her mom foot the bill. I really don't want that because FILs are already paying for her hotel room and plane ticket to the wedding as well as the dress. Nevermind the fact that FILs have to pay for their own plane tickets and hotel room as well as the rehearsal dinner and they have already paid for the limos, shuttles for OOT guests and various other little things.
I had no idea when I asked FSIL to be my bridesmaid that all the financial burden would fall on her parents. I had only met her once before and she is not a young girl still living at home or anything (she's 35 and married).
Sooo... what should I tell my local girls? Should I tell them that since OOT BM is not coming that she shouldn't have to help? Or maybe there are things she could do from Texas but that that wouldn't put her in a financial bind?

My two OOT BMs are my FSILs... not only did they do nothing to help with the shower, they didn't come, did not send a gift, and have not once even mentioned my shower or asked how it went. It was 2 weeks ago!

In your situation, I wouldn't ask her to contribute -- especially since you don't seem to know her that well.

Honestly, since she's an OOT BM and isn't able to come I wouldn't ask her to contribute financially. I would be appalled if I were in her situation and still expected to give $$$$. However, she should still send a gift. And there are other things she can help with, like calling up places asking for prices, and collecting addresses.
