OOT Gift Bags - is it wrong NOT to have them?

Original post by Dalito322

I really liked the idea of doing gift bags for OOT guests staying at the hotel - but the closer we get, the less time and $$ I have to put into them!!

Is this something i definitely should do, or are people even going to notice? Anyone else NOT doing the OOT gift bags at the hotel?

If you don't want to, don't do 'em. If you feel obligated, maybe you could do a welcome letter with some extra maps or something. But don't sweat if you don't have time or money.

Except for the favors, which my husband never wanted to do (for a while we thought we'd do donation favors, then decided it was a private thing) I did feel like I should do a lot of those things. Although not OOT baskets, as I didn't have many OOT guests who weren't staying with friends or family. I had some guests from NJ who stayed overnight, but that's not the same thing.

It's just so HARD, you know? I planned this wedding nearly entirely by myself in six months, while working a full-time job and dealing with a chronic illness. Sitting around reading websites and magazines was one thing, I could do that while resting, but doing DIY and projects was often beyond me. So I'd get these wonderful ideas, but not be able to do them. And on top of that I really wanted to keep our budget down. So what did I find out? Unless you have a lot of guests who are also current brides looking to see what you did, you don't need all that stuff. I know my family and friends didn't know or care.

The only important things are a happy bride and groom, a lovely ceremony, good food, good music, and someone talented to record the day so you can look back on it for years to come. Everything else is extras. Really. If you already have all of those, and there's something else you don't want to do, SKIP IT. You will still have a lovely wedding.

I didn't do them. I really wanted to but Frankly it was just out of our budget at that time!!! Don't fret people honestly are there for your wedding they're not gonna care about OOT bags!!!
