I was just looking through some past threads and there were a lot of brides that were paying for the OOT guest's hotel rooms
I'm definitly not doing that....but now I feel like a big cheapo...what do you think?

Re: OOT Guests
My mother plans on paying for the hotels for our side of the family, its basically her 2 brothers (my uncles). other than that, everyone is on their own

I once read somewhere that it's polite to pay for the rooms and then the guest reimburse you? I have never known anyone who has done that though or paid for the room either. When I went to my cousins wedding in PA, they did not pay for anyones rooms so OOT are on their own. Besides with the economy the way it is what do they expect?

Re: OOT Guests
I am paying enough for them to have a great time why should i have to pay for their rooms. Mom and I were talking about it since FH is from CT and I flat out told her I will block rooms but there is no way I can afford to pay for rooms. The hotels give you a discount rate anyway.
When we went to NH for FH friends wedding I had to pay a good penny to stay in the hotel they suggested.

Re: OOT Guests
I would like to cuz my OOt guests are coming from GREECE so its a really big expense for them, i just dont know if that would really be possible financially, i guess it depends on how many end up coming, if its not too many then they can stay with us (theyre family)

I am not paying for mine either.....but one of my photographers is FHs cousins and she is taking our pics free of charge so I'm considering paying hers as a kind gesture....

Re: OOT Guests
Oh, HELL no. This is where we draw the line. FH has a lot of OOT family, if they can't afford the hotel room... then hey, don't come. We can not be expected to pay for: the reception, the rehearsal dinner, the brunch afterwards and YOUR ROOM too! It's a wedding not a charity event.
(Sorry, I feel strongly)

Re: OOT Guests
no, we will give a list of suggested hotels but thats it... we dont have many OOT guests except for some relatives on FH's side and some of his college friends
