OOT Hotel question

OOT Hotel question

I have a few questions:

Is it necessary to recommend two hotels to OOT guests? FFIL thinks I should do this and I'm concerned if I tell them two places, we won't meet the guarantee and prices will be much higher?

How far in advance is necessary to tell people?

How do you tell everyone where to go? We already sent out our STD before the prices of stamps went up so I wanted to figure this out.

I blocked rooms at two hotels. Mostly cus there is a $100 price difference between the two. I wanted to accomodate all budgets. If the places you are looking at all have the same price or are around the same, then try to get everyone at the same one so it will be more fun!

Thats what I was thinking, the hotels are $5 difference so its not a big deal. They're both the same chain, one is in Plainview and one Hauppage.

I think the one thats a little more is better since they'll give us a bigger discount on a suite for our wedding night :)

We just went with one hotel, because we had a shuttle to the Watermill and also we had a brunch set up for the next morning at the hotel.

As far as how to tell everyone, we included the hotel cards that they gave us in the invitations for anyone who we thought might be interested.

I already sent out the STD but I'm guessing I could wait a few months and send a reminder to people OOT. I know March isn't an extremely busy month so there shouldn't be a problem with the hotel but if I wait until the invitations go out, does that really give enough time?

Unfortunately I don't have email information for FH's family only my own so sending them via the know wouldn't really work. Most of my family is in the area and its really just a few friends and his family that is coming in. [

We only booked 1 hotel. The rate we got was reasonable, so I didn't see the need to recommend a second one.

Block rooms at two hotels that don't require a minimum number of rooms to be booked for guests to get the discount. None of the hotels we looked at required a certain number of rooms to be booked.

They release the rooms 30 days before the wedding -- but even if only 1 or 2 rooms are booked, the guest still gets the discount. (We blocked rooms at the Wingate Inn Garden City)
