So I went to visit a Venue tonight and I asked about prices for children. Then I asked if there was a reduced price for those under 21, since they won't be using the open bar. I wasn't really expecting a 'yes there is a reduced price' answer, but the person I was asking looked at me like I had 5 heads. He was extremely nice and helpful overall, but I was a bit confused by his reaction. Is this a completely insane question to ask a venue? In my head it makes sense. Yes, ok, maybe the venue isn't going to card someone who looks 'borderline' and a few 19 and 20 yr olds will wind up sneaking a drink. However, no one is going to allow a 12 year old to buy a gin & tonic (lol). Am I completely crazy?

Re: Open Bar Question
Normally every Venue i went to charges half price for children 3-13 and vendors. But thats a great question since they will not be using the bar.

Re: Open Bar Question
i believe the explanation i received is that the open bar really doesn't add that much to the cost pp (one place told me it was only a $5 difference) bc they take into consideration that not everyone will be drinking

Re: Open Bar Question
You're not crazy. Its a great question. I never thought to ask that question.... Nice call by you. I have to keep that in mind and have it in the contract when I finally book a RH.
