I got a french manicure with OPI color gels last week and after 5 days it was already starting to peel up at the sides. Now, a week later and it's still on, but you can see where its probably going to start coming off. Is that normal? Or did the salon just do a bad job?
Id like to know too- I thought the color gels were supposed to last like a perm french?

It sounds like they may have done a bad job. I was getting this for a while and it lasted 2-3 weeks. After 2 weeks it would start to peel, but it def shouldn't be happening after 5 days.
They did a bad job. I get that type of manicure every time I go now. It should last at least 10-14 days. French doesn't last quite as well as the regular colors (I recommend the Hawaiian Orchid color -- so pretty) but it still should be in better shape than you are describing.
i think they did a bad job i know several co-workers who had that done and it did last the full 2 weeks

ugh - i'm so bummed. this wasn't just a random nail place - got it done at a spa. but they were close to closing, so i think she rushed so that's why it's peeling. won't be going back there again.
oh no i got this done for a very long time it never lasted which made me upset and then all of a sudden my nails broke down to nothing so now i have uv gel with tips in permanent french they do make it in color they call in color gel this seems to work just fine
sounds like they did a bad job. i have the OPI gel mani (not french) and it lasts 3 weeks!
