Opinion

I find it interesting that from time to time someone posts for the very first time with a very negative post about their vendor(s). Why would they never post during all their wedding planning and then all of a sudden feel the need to post now? What are your thoughts? Should these posts be trusted?

Re: Opinion

I'd say.....SUSPICIOUS! That is my first reaction. Especially if they have only posted once or twice. I will however look to see if they post again in order to give them some credibility. You never know. they may just have found this site and want to vent or are lurkers. Anyway, I do agree with you for my initial reaction unitl I can prove trust with these 'so called' brides. It just goes to prove that you can never take anything for its face value unless you know the person or circumstance first hand.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Opinion

You never know, some posts may be taken from other wedding websites. that has happened before with the whole Chateu Briand thing. Anyway, Like we all say...vendors do have bad days. it is unfortunate that at times it 'ruins' a couples wedding, but it gives us a heads up on what to watch out for. The bad reports can help us in many ways even if they aren't true. For example, photographers...have a list of all the people you want pictures with. See proofs of their work and go by recommendations! Ask what will happen (before time) if you are not happy with the proofs and put it in a contract!
Limos..ask the drivers BEFORE time if they know EXACTLY where they are going and if possible, bring a spare set of directions just in case. Make sure the contract has everything you want (AC, color, time, etc.)
With all vendors...have them write down SPECIFICALLY who will show up the DAY OF the wedding. It is important to have those names in the contract. Everything should be in writing this way if (God Forbid) a situation happens on your wedding day you will be covered because you have a contract!
My father made sure that with my band contract every band members name appears on the contract this way they can not 'switch' people that day!!!
Specific contracts are very important to have with every vendor!!!! Just a heads up!!

Re: Opinion

My dad did the same exact thing, he made sure EVERY band member signed the contract. It's just one of those things where you don't want to have to do it, but you'd rather have the 'security' knowing that you are protected in some way, God forbid something happens. And really, for all the money we're shelling out for this one-time event, you want to make sure everything goes as perfcet as possible...
