background info...when we booked at the watermill they told us for a sat night wedding they can't offer us a place for our ceremony. so, we found a non denominational chapel in manhasset that is absolutely gorgeous!! but its far, but we thought we had no choice! (it's approx 30-40 min drive from rh)
i went to the watermill yesterday and they are building a chapel!!!! and it will be ready by our wedding!!! at first i was so happy, but im a little bummed that our plans will change now because at the rh the ceremony will begin at 6 and ch will be at 6:30, so there will be no time for pics and we def want to be at ch. so there is no choice but to see each other before hand for pics. fh is upset with this, and i kind of am too, but just feel that if the ceremony is at the rh so many more ppl will come and it will just be easier for everyone.
so we have to make a decision....what would you ladies do?

i would do the manhasset chapel to be honest......CH is important to me, as well as taking pics....and I personally dont want to see FH before the wedding.....30 mins to drive to the hall isnt bad.....i think most people expect it! but thats my opinion....you have to do whats best for you

ita. 30 min is not that bad at all. the drive between my church and reception was about 45min. i didn't hear any complaints. we were able to take pics in between (seeing each other before the ceremony wasn't an option for us) and be at our entire cocktail hour!

ITA! My church is in smithtown and the RH is in Long Beach. Thats a long drive! But it does give us the time to take pics.

the ceremony in manhasset would be at 2:30
our guests are coming from everywhere, fh's family lives in the holbrook area, and oot, and mine is all over, oot, nassau
IMO I would keep the ceremony in Manhasset then! You will have more time to take pictures and FH wont have to see you before the ceremony. My church is in Seaford and my RH is in Northport.. It is not very close plus we have a huge gap in between... people will just have to deal

Manhasset is not that far from Smithtown. It will be fine. The people who are important and want to be at your ceremony will be there. I would do Manhasset. Then you'll have time between to take pics and then go to CH!!!

ITA but last night after i found this out, both sets of parents are now against a ceremony in manhasset and really talked me into it at the rh...
I see both sides of each argument so it's hard, i just really can't decide!

Actually we arent seeing each other before the ceremony either.. we are getting married at the RH at 6 and the CH starts at 6:30 .. what we did was extend the CH so now its an hour and a half (instead of one hour) so we can take pics during that time and then we will also take a few pics during the reception

Same here.
Initially, I had my ceremony at 6 and cocktail hour at 7:30. I thought it was too close and not enough time for pictures and enjoyment of the CH! SO, we changed it to 2:30 ceremony and 7PM cocktail hour so we have all the time!

I think you should decide what is going to make you happiest. It is your wedding day and if it you really don't want to see FH before than do Manhasset. You need to be happy with your decision. My church is in Babylon and my RH is in Great Neck which is about a 40 minute drive. A lot of girls are having the same so I wouldn't worry about it.

FH and I have to see eachother before as well due to niether one of us wanting to miss CH... At first we wrere both bummed, but we figured we aren't completely tradional anyways so its ok.

i would keep it as u have....yea u may get a fewmore people at thr rh to see u guys but if the thought of seeing u before hand upsets either one of u..its just not worth it
