Opinion on hiring 2 different Photographers for wedding

I'm doing a Hindu ceremony one day and the reception another day. I original was looking to hire one photographer for 2 days but my cousin brought up a good point with hiring a non indian photographer won't know when the big moments are happening to know to take out those pictures. I know i could always tell them but there is still that chance they won't know that moment is coming up. So i'm thinking it better to hire 1 photographer for just the hindu ceremony and another for the reception?

What are your thoughts? I'm really confused

i think thats a good idea... you want someone that will know when to capture the important moments, although your typical photographers have seen a wide range of cultured wedding ceremonies its a good idea to get someone that really understands... since it is on two different days i dont think its a problem at all as long as you are ok with the pricing you get using two companies. If you find an indian photographer that you love however it might be worth your while to hire them for both days

this is your wedding and you wont get those moments back - make sure you get the right photographer for each moment so I would def get 2 since a regular photographer may not know the important parts.

I agree with all the ladies! There's no way you can recreate a moment if it's missed. If there is a photographer that understands the dynamics of a Hindu wedding, that should be your first choice. Lock that photographer in first. If that photographer stylistically can also do your second day then see what they can do for you cost wise. Otherwise find a different photographer for the second day.

Opinion on hiring 2 different Photographers for wedding

I honestly think that is a GREAT idea! Most of you ladies are planning, I already had my wedding and let me tell you that TWO things that last are the PICTURES AND YOUR VIDEO. I also would not go cheap on my HONEYMOON!!!

If you can splurge on two photographers DO IT!!! The more pictures the better!!

I would get two totally different styled photographers! One that is great at candid photography and another that is great at capturing all the details.

I really can't afford 2 photographers but this is the only thing i could keep and have forever and I won't get this moment again. Its a debate in my head i keep going back and forth on

I know it's hard. Keeping a budget is the toughest battle. If you can cut out of something else expand the budget for photography maybe it will work. I hope it does Hun. The pictures will be there forever and as unique as they will in your case it will be something to cherish for the rest of your life. Ultimately it has to be right for you.

budget was my worst enemy! I started out wanting a backyard party then looked at vfw halls - now im at chateau la mer. lol. I kept justifying the money and postponing the wedding a little to pay it off, cut my regular every day expenses and trying to earn a little more money here and there - even selling things on ebay lol. Someone once told me you figure it out. Its true - i'm figuring it out and you will too!
