Opinions/feedback on these books?

My DH went to Barnes and Noble last night and picked me up two books...

1. The Nursing Mother's Companion
2. The Complete Book of Breastfeeding

I want to return one of the books...both have gotten good reviews, but I am leaning more towards keeping The Nursing Mother's Companion. Do any of you *moms* have these books? If so, which one did (or do) you like?

He also bought me 'Your Baby's First Year: Week by Week' ... I was wondering if it was good or not. If not, any recommendations for a similar book? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Opinions/feedback on these books?

'Your babys first year week by week is fine if you take into account that your child may or may not be doing the things they say each week. Each child grows and progresses differently. Sometimes new parents get obsessive like that. I liked the Your pregnancy week by week much better, it was more accurate. I like the What to expect the first year book for the baby. I also have a good book called The first 12 months of life.

I dont know about the breastfeeding books you mentioned but trust me, get as knowledgeable as you can on the subject beforehand. I wasn't and...well, its a long story but the breastfeeding did not work out for us like I think it could have if I was more informed. I got alot of conflicting information in the hospital after Luke was born.

Re: Opinions/feedback on these books?

I thought that I posted this already, but I definitely recommend 'A Nursing Mother's Companion.' It has so much great information, it's easy to read but not overwhelming. I would keep that one!

Re: Opinions/feedback on these books?

Nusing moms companion is very good. I also recommend The complete k of breastfeeding by Marvin Eiger and Sally Wendkos Olds...this one was recommended by my midwives. I have found it very helpful.
Do a lot of readiing b4 baby comes so u will not feel 'lost' when the little one arrives.
I did a lot of reading...and I was still a bit disscouraged during Julianne's first few days.
